Hi Jose, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting JJ’s Cuisine came from a deep passion for food, family, and creating something meaningful for the community. The idea wasn’t just to open a restaurant, but to build a place where people could truly feel at home.

My thought process was driven by a few key things:
First, I wanted to share the flavors and techniques I love—slow-smoked meats, bold seasoning, and comfort food made the right way. I noticed there was a gap for authentic, high-quality smokehouse food served in a warm, welcoming environment, and I felt confident I could bring something different to the table.

Second, I was motivated by independence and purpose. I wanted to create my own vision, make my own decisions, and build a business that reflected my values—hard work, consistency, and treating people like family. JJ’s Cuisine was built on the belief that great food tastes even better when it’s made with care and served with genuine hospitality.

Finally, starting my own business was about legacy. I wanted to create something lasting, not just for today but for the future—something my family could be proud of and the community could connect with. JJ’s Cuisine is more than a restaurant; it’s a reflection of who we are, our culture, and our commitment to quality and authenticity.

Most importantly, I want people to know that this brand represents perseverance. This journey wouldn’t be possible without the people who stood beside me from the very beginning. My family deserves immense credit—they believed in the vision before it was fully formed, supported me through long hours, challenges, and sacrifices, and reminded me why this was all worth it.
