Meet Jose Mizrahi | Actor, Model, Fitness, Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Mizrahi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jose, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey It’s been an adventure reading this one. I’ve been enjoying it quite a lot. For this book I did something differently, I got the hard cover book and also the audio book which is narrated by McConaughey himself. Therefore, I’ve been following the reading while listening to Matthew McConaughey tell his story in his own words and tone.
Greenlights relates stories in Matthew McConaughey’s life, his experiences, adventures, lessons and achievements.
As someone in pursuit a life in entertainment and the movie industry, listening to a person I admire tell his story, struggles, and experiences is very inspirational and motivational. Also, along with the stories, Matthew shares some of the main lessons and moments of enlightenment he’s had throughout his career.
This book is filled with entertainment, guidelines, lessons and good vibes. It came to my life in a very important moment, a moment where I just finished a big project and am exploring different opportunities to keep growing, learning and being happy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My introduction and involvement in the world of entertainment was very unexpected and spontaneous. It all started when I took my sister to a movie premiere on a Friday night. Waiting at the popcorn line, a woman approached us and asked if we wanted to be part of the entertainment industry, in TV Shows, Commercials and other projects. My sister immediately said yes, I was a bit hesitant because where I come from, being part of the entertainment industry is kind of forbidden and a taboo, but I also agreed. We basically got scouted.
A month after, we both started working in different projects and TV commercials. As more projects came, some prejudices and speculation came from some of the people around me, but as bigger projects came, and I was dedicating more time into it, more serious questions came to me. Therefore, getting involved and working in the industry has been very rewarding, but somewhat challenging dealing with the social aspects, traditions, culture and ideals in my background.
Breaking from and going against a lot of what I was taught as a kid has been difficult, but every time I confront the situation and dealt with it, I’ve become stronger and more certain I’m in the right path in my life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely show them all different aspects of Miami; from the more classical areas like Miami Beach and Ocean Drive to the newest sites like Design District, Wynwood and Brickell.
In Miami Beach I’d go to Lincoln Rd to walk, Ocean Drive and South Pointe to hang out, Faena for a drink.
Design District to walk around the new outdoor shops, later have lunch in Mandolin and have a liquor ice cream in Aubi Ramsa. Also visit Upper Buena Vista to have a treat from Amazonica.
Wynwood, would be to visit the Walls and walk around the stores.
Brickell City Center mall would be another great time. Eat in Pubbelly or Casa Tua and shop around later.
Other interesting areas would be Aventura, with the iconic Aventura Mall, and Sunny Isles with the huge buildings and nice beaches.
Plus a cool getaway for the day would be to go to RH Rooftop in West Palm Beach for brunch.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother Pola Mochon @lamamafitness and my sister Emma Mizrahi @emmamizrahi both are and have been a big part of my story. They are both an inspiration and an example of perseverance, good attitude, and hard work.
