We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Yepez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, how does your business help the community?
Uff… Big impact! And that’s the main reason why I joined The Playlist. We offer a fun, but most importantly, safe space for everybody, especially to the LGBTQ+ Community. As members of it, we created this event so we can all have a place to get together, dance, network, fall in love, or just be. We have heard stories of goers (some now our friends too) that have met and fallen in love in our parties. Others are now working together, creating more things for the community and the world. I remember this particular friend that was new to Miami last year and, he not only met the love of his life and made new friends, he also found a partner for his business and they are thriving. And we keep growing, unifying more and more people each time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Playlist is a monthly event that brings together the LGBTQ+ community and anyone who wants to experience a free space where everyone is welcome. The event aims to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere where people can connect, express themselves, and celebrate diversity.

Every month, The Playlist offers a dynamic program of performances, art directions, and interactive activities that showcase the creativity and talent of the LGBTQ+ community. From dance parties to live
music, The Playlist has something for everyone.

The event has a rich history of providing a safe and supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ community to express themselves freely and connect with others. Since its inception, The Playlist has grown to become one of the most popular LGBTQ+ events in the Miami area, attracting a diverse and vibrant crowd.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course, The Playlist is my number one option. I am vegetarian and there are many good options to eat in Miami, but my favorites are The Cocinita in Brickell and Plants & Bowls in the Design District.
Almost any Mediterranean restaurant in Miami is good. Andiamo and Piacere pizzas are top of my list.
And the beach. Every beach in Miami is beautiful on a sunny day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Playlist Team. Fabrizio and Miguel (Discofuturo). They are the masterminds. I am the little brother that came to play along with them. I have learned a lot through this experience, as well as put in my knowledge and my best self to make it better every time. Everybody involved in the project is important. The goers, without our players we would not exist. They bring their joy to our dancefloor and make it magical.
