Meet Jovany Coppet

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jovany Coppet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jovany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It really started with noticing how many property owners in Miami had great real estate but weren’t maximizing its income potential. They either didn’t have time, didn’t understand the short-term rental market, or were frustrated with unreliable managers. With my background in finance and operations, I knew I could offer a better solution—one that combined strong hospitality with smart pricing and cost control.
Starting my Airbnb management business was a way to take ownership of something scalable while solving a clear problem. I saw it as a win-win: helping owners earn more passively while building long-term value for myself through a business I could grow on my own terms.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At SunStayMia, we specialize in short-term rental management for property owners who want to maximize income without the stress of day-to-day operations. What sets us apart is our hands-on approach: we treat each property like a boutique hotel, with high standards for guest experience, dynamic pricing, and attention to detail. We’re not just managing listings—we’re building value.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I started with just one unit and built the company organically, learning everything from guest communication to local zoning rules. There were challenges—slow seasons, guest issues, regulatory changes—but I saw every obstacle as a chance to improve systems and build resilience. My background in finance definitely helped, especially when it came to budgeting, forecasting, and structuring operations for scalability.
I’m proud of the trust we’ve earned from owners who now view us as long-term partners, not just a management company. My goal is to continue growing SunStayMia into one of the top premium Airbnb management services in Miami, while keeping our values rooted in transparency, profitability, and service.
I want people to know that this business isn’t just about renting spaces—it’s about creating memorable stays and turning real estate into real income.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Favorite Spots in the City
If my best friend came to visit Miami, I’d make sure they got the full experience—sun, culture, and amazing food.
Day 1: We’d start in Wynwood, grabbing coffee at Panther Coffee, then exploring the street art and galleries. Lunch at Kush for a solid local burger, and end the night with cocktails at Le Chick or rooftop vibes at No. 3 Social.
Day 2: Morning beach walk in Surfside (less crowded than South Beach), then brunch at The Surf Club if we’re going upscale. Afternoon pool time or spa session at The Standard in Miami Beach, then dinner at Mandolin Aegean Bistro in the Design District.
Day 3: A boat day is a must—cruising around Biscayne Bay, anchoring near Hobie Beach or Haulover Sandbar, and bringing snacks and champagne. Dinner that night would be laid-back, maybe tacos at Coyo Taco.
Day 4: A cultural day—visit Little Havana, stop at Domino Park, try cafecito and Cuban food at Versailles. Evening jazz or live music at Ball & Chain.
Day 5: Day trip to Key Biscayne for nature and beach. We’d rent bikes at Crandon Park, then grab seafood at Rusty Pelican with skyline views for dinner.
Day 6: Shopping and art at Miami Design District or Brickell City Centre, plus drinks at Sugar Rooftop Bar at EAST hotel. Nightcap at Komodo if we want a lively crowd.
Day 7: Chill day—brunch at Amara at Paraiso, then sunset at South Pointe Park Pier, and a final dinner at Casa Tua for a romantic or elegant end.
Miami has layers—beachy, urban, artsy, and international. I’d want them to experience all of it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, who always believed in my vision even when it wasn’t clear to others. Their support gave me the confidence to take risks and build something of my own. I also want to recognize my early Airbnb clients—those first few property owners who trusted me with their homes. Their faith in me helped lay the foundation for SunStayMia. Lastly, I’d give credit to mentors and peers who challenged me to think bigger and sharpen my business instincts along the way.
