Meet Juan Chahin | Founder – Procontractors

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Chahin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Procontractors came from recognizing a gap in the construction industry between technical execution and the overall client experience. After working in environments focused on systems, operations, and structured growth, I realized that many construction projects don’t fail because people lack skill—they fail because of poor planning, unclear communication, and decisions being made too late in the process.
My partner and I wanted to build a company that approached residential and commercial construction with a higher level of organization and discipline from the start. Procontractors was created around a structured approach—clear scopes of work, realistic schedules, and transparent budgets—combined with a hands-on service model where clients feel guided and supported throughout the project.
Our idea was simple: bring the systems and coordination typically seen in larger construction firms to homeowners, business owners, and real estate investors developing or improving their properties. Today we work with clients across Miami-Dade and Broward helping them plan and execute home renovations, home additions, and commercial construction projects through a more organized and predictable process.

What should our readers know about your business?
From day one, we built the company around a few core principles that guide how we approach every project and relationship: accountability, precision, transparency, and partnership.
Building the company definitely hasn’t been easy. Construction is an industry where every project brings different challenges, whether it’s navigating permits, coordinating multiple trades, or solving unexpected conditions on site. But those experiences are also what shape how you operate. One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that preparation and communication solve most problems before they happen.
What I’m most proud of today is the trust we’re building with our clients and partners. Many of our projects come through referrals, and that tells us we’re moving in the right direction. It also keeps us accountable and aligned with our original goal: operating with the values and structured processes of large construction firms while maintaining the attention to detail and personalized service of a boutique, family-owned company. That combination is really what sets us apart.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely give a shoutout to the people who have been part of my journey both personally and professionally. Building a business, especially in construction, takes a lot of resilience, and having the right support system makes a huge difference.
First, my partner deserves a lot of credit. Starting and growing a company requires constant decision-making, problem solving, and long hours, and having someone who shares the same vision and work ethic is incredibly important. Many of the ideas behind Procontractors were shaped through conversations about how we could approach construction projects with more structure, planning, and professionalism.
I’m also grateful for the mentors and professionals I’ve crossed paths with along the way. In this industry you learn a lot from people who have been doing it for decades, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and business owners who are generous with their advice and experience.
And of course, I have to mention the clients who trust us with their projects. Every homeowner, business owner, and investor who chooses to work with us is really part of the story, because their projects are what allow us to keep growing and improving as a company.
