Meet Judica Salmon | Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Judica Salmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Judica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started So Tropica, my vision was to develop natural products that effectively and safely addressed everyday needs. Recognizing a gap in the market, I was inspired to create solutions that combine accessibility and exceptional quality.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So Tropica is a natural skincare brand I created to provide effective, affordable, and fun solutions for common skin concerns like stretch marks, razor bumps, acne, and eczema. For instance, both men and women experience stretch marks at comparable rates—women often develop them during pregnancy, while men may notice them during muscle growth. My Stretch Mark Serum was designed to be suitable for men and women of all ages, addressing stretch marks from growth, weight changes, pregnancy, or muscle building. Its gentle, natural formula works for all skin types, enhancing skin’s texture and resilience. You can purchase the Stretch Mark Serum here: https://pay.sotropica.com
What sets us apart is our commitment to using tropical, nature-inspired ingredients that not only work but are also GMO-free and pregnancy-safe. I’m most proud of the brand’s ability to bring joy and confidence to people’s routines while staying true to our mission of safety, efficiency, and authenticity.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. Starting a new business comes with challenges, from figuring out product formulations to navigating marketing. After closing my last business due to certain safety hazards COVID-19 posed in 2021, I’ve faced moments of doubt, but persistence and a clear vision have been my guiding forces.
I overcame these challenges by focusing on learning, innovation, and staying resilient. Along the way, I’ve learned that patience and adaptability are key. Building something meaningful takes time, and you have to embrace every obstacle as a stepping stone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend visited Miami, we’d start with brunch at The Standard, then hit South Beach and Ocean Drive. Evenings would include dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab or Versailles.
We’d explore Wynwood’s street art, grab tacos at Coyo, and visit Vizcaya Museum. For adventure, we’d do a boat ride in Biscayne Bay or paddleboarding in Key Biscayne. Nights would feature live music at Lagniappe or dancing at LIV.
We’d wrap up with shopping in the Design District, brunch at Swan, and a trip to the Perez Art Museum or the Everglades. A perfect Miami week!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give recognition to the Branches Be One community. As a group of ambitious entrepreneurs, we learn under the counsel of Sid – a talented and intelligent business coach. I also thank Steve and Louby who collaborated with me to invest in So Tropica.
