We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Nikolaeva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first it’s really scared me, because I was just solo lash artist , rented bed in salon and my rent was 400$ only. And opening big business taking a lot of expenses. Also a problem , that I was a lash artist but I became a business person! Unfortunately I know nothing about it. But realized soon that I have to learn how to became a business person! I knew all risks, but my dream to have my own studio didn’t stop me!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So I have my beautiful busy lash studio, I’m educator, and I have my own lash brand HIT Lashes, with premium material and supplies for lash artist. I’m speaker at lash conferences and lifestream! Ambassador with biggest world lash show. And I all of that I achieved in only 6 months by myself! Can you believe -3 years ago I didn’t even know how to do lashes and was a stay home mom! I even didn’t have money for marketing company or someone who can help develop my brand! And this is only beginning of my goal! I never thought i can do that much by myself! Feel so powerful! I feel like I do want to pass on my story and my experience with other ladies that always wanted to have a business and become independent. That is what I do on my lash class , not just teaching how to do lashes, but also open a door in lash business!!! I would lie if I say it’s so easy every one can do this… NO it’s hard! And can you do it or not depends only on you! On how big is your dream! As I said I was lash artist , and then opened my studio and hired employee. I didn’t feel that I was a líder for them, and that was a problem! As I told you I had zero experience with business. So I realized it soon, and now I do feel respect from my masters. I remember my past good and bad bosses , realized they and my mistakes and trying to be better every day! Another hard side is then you solo lash artist you have a lot of clients, but now I have 2 more masters and it’s not enough for everyone, and my clients didn’t really wanted to go to my masters. So I trained my masters to be same as I’m! Now we have same quality of work, so my clients don’t complains. I focused on clients in my social media. And I quickly saw success!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot for rest with my family is Florida Keys (Marathon) usually booked then Tranqulity bay resort it’s big 2 floor 2 bedroom beach house! And feel like I’m charging there) also I love romantic night out in JOIA beach, sexy fish.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
