We had the good fortune of connecting with Julius Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julius, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue a career as a music artist, because I really wanted to make a pursuit towards something that has a universal connection as well as something I’m super passionate about. I love music, I love the way that music impacts the human experience. Music has the power to trigger emotions, bring back important memories, or even uplift you in a motivational way. When I think about the way my favorite artists make me feel through song, I can’t help but to want to give the world those same feelings through my own heart felt music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an Independent R&B Singer & Songwriter! I started singing,song-writing, and performing at the age of 9, and I kind of just worked hard at developing that until I turned 18, which is when I started to upload music on the internet. Creating music was a way for me to express myself through art, and heal myself from some childhood traumas I experienced. The intriguing thing about my music is that it is true, heartfelt, positive, and very nostalgic in terms of what many feel R&B is lacking. I try to cater to 90’s inspired sounds but still give something futuristic and original. I’ve had many challenges as an artist, but the challenges are exciting for me, because I believe with true passion I can overcome anything and become as successful as I desire! I’m doing my thing as an artist, so that’s success to me, I just hope one day the world will catch on.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s so funny that you say that because I’m currently with my best friend down here as we speak! So far I’ve taken her to South Beach, as well as Hollywood Beach( There’s a difference in the energies on both beaches… balance). I’ve also taken her to Bayside/Bayfront Park which is one of my favorite spots to grab some food and relax by the Biscayne Bay in Miami. For some real Miami Culture, I’ve taken her back to some of the places I’ve come from, Miami Gardens and Liberty City. I love for my friends to get a sense of where I’m from, so it’s awesome to show them those places. I’ve also shown her around Wynwood, because I love the art there…. The vibes in Wynwood are so unmatched. In terms of food, I like La Carretta, The Licking, and Jamaica House!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I personally would like to shout out my siblings and my best friends! Without them, I wouldn’t be able to move through life so passionately. My friends and family really do keep me grounded and motivated in their own special way.
