We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
It has changed very much as we have began this process building Aria. I believe the most successful entrepreneurs don’t have a balance in life while starting a business, and that’s an advantage. Especially at the early stages, founders need to be obsessed over networking, building, and growing a team.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a background that odd for what we are building. I got my degree in biology and a masters in management of natural resources. From there I began running my families restaurants which taught me a lot about managing people and recourses. I then moved into a software sales role, helping me to learn the tricks of demand generation, negotiation and multithreading within orgs. Getting to this point was not easy, but I when in doubt just do the work. We all know what it will take for us to hit our goals, but you have to be willing to put in the work to get there.

I’d want to the world to know that when people are telling you your idea is too grand or too ambitious, then you are likely on the right track.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a big fan of a nice dinner with great atmosphere. I’d start the week off at Santorini, where the food is great and breaking plates is the norm (IYKYK). Nikki beach would be a definite as well for a day of lounging near the beach. SOHO beach house for dinner and drinks would be on that list, and then Medium cool after for some music. Lagniappe is on the list as well, even though social media has made it a tourist spot. Mila, Joes Stone Crab, Carbone are a must as well to get the full Miami feel.

In general, Wynwood and the design district are always a good option as well. Swan in deign district has a great vibe to it. Wynwood for some art and tacos is never a bad choice to.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d have to shoutout my co-founder. His ability to break into circles of high performing businessmen and artists is inspiring. Our business relationship started when I asked him how he was getting all of these connections, and that we need to leverage those somehow. Slowly our network has grown to include artists like Akon, Kevin Hart and many others who will be partnering with us as we grow.
