We had the good fortune of connecting with Kali of Haunted South Florida and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kali, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Passion. We really have a passion for everything paranormal including contributing, sharing, listening, helping, teaching, learning … to not only enhance our education and gifts but to give others the same opportunity while being productive to the field.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve personally only been exploring the paranormal in this form for about a year although my ‘gifts’ I’ve had every since I can remember. Our group, Haunted South Florida, has 30+ years collectively investigating. One of our fellow members and personal good friend, Gina, invited me to an event. Tim, the one who made this all happen, was the teacher before we branched off to investigate with REAL TOOLS! We were soooo geeked because most ‘ghost tours’ hand you a basic K2 and let you WATCH THEM investigate. But Tim insisted we use his equipment. He encouraged us to check out everything, made us FEEL LIKE PART OF THE TEAM. So when we decided to create HSF we kept this in mind and we try very hard to make our guests feel the same. We also try to keep things light and fun! I think this is a part of why we’ve been successful at the rate in which we have.
Of course we’ve had a couple of obstacles as anything does. Mostly from those who are envious of what they want or could have had yanno? But honestly because our energy is so positive as far as intention and what we put out into the universe it has just kind of been good back to us.
Fun fact: Nearly every one of us on the team were students of Tim’s at some point!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s actually funny you ask this question as we just had a couple come visit from out of town for this exact experience!!!
Sooo …. first it would have to start on the first Saturday of the month because our team, Haunted South Florida, showcases our Published Author, Tim Arnwine, at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum and we spend the day talking about what we do and our equipment. You’ll catch members of our team out with equipment investigating as well. For the record, it’s a family oriented FREE event and there’s so many cool train cars with train rides even if the Paranormal isn’t your thing!
Next we’d head over to the Last Chance Saloon over in Florida City and when they say LAST CHANCE it’s the LAST SPOT before you hit the keys so you’ll miss it if you’re not looking for it. It’s a nice little haunted bar and one of our very own, Linda, owns it! We’ll grab a bite, a few drinks and do a little investigating before heading over to what we like to call the “Disco Cemetery”. There’s sooo much energy floating around that spot, we always get great results there!!
Finally we’ll head over to the oldest building in Homestead, Hotel Redland. We investigate this very haunted Hotel frequented by Al Capone and crew years after a fire had broke out and the new Hotel built on the same spot. It is claimed that several guests died in their beds in the fire. It is also rumored that the location was a brothel at one point. Perhaps why Al Capone and crew frequented the Hotel Redland? And if you dare stay the night with us we’ll share what we experienced overnight there the next morning.
And if you still have time … let us introduce you to History Ft Lauderdale showcasing the New River Inn, King-Cromartie House and the replica School House!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
None of this would be possible without our Mentor, Tim Arnwine.
