Meet Kami Kinnison | Painter and sculptor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kami Kinnison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kami, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have been an artist ever since I can remember. It’s my passion in life…it’s who I am. I am very adventurous….a free spirit. I love that I can record a moment in time and bring beauty into the world.

Creating art is a journey, a process. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums. My main focuses are painting, sculpting, photography. When each piece is finished, I feel such a release and a deep sense of accomplishment.

When the person my art was created for finds it, I am so happy and fulfilled! It feels like my purpose on the planet is complete, and I just smile. 😊

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My paintings and sculptures are more organic and free since I’ve been living at the beach. The beauty of the ocean inspires me. I love watching the waves, the birds flying, and manatees and dolphins swimming by. It’s so peaceful and magical!

I paint at the beach and I use sand and salt water in my paintings. I mix them in with the paint. I feel like it brings the ocean energy into each piece.

I also create intuitive, spiritual paintings for people. I tune in and paint what I sense around each person… the colors, the movement and the feelings that come through. Each one is very unique to the person and very special. I’ve received feedback that was so touching, it actually made me cry. One of my collectors said that I channeled her higher “spiritual” self. Another said that I painted the future of her purpose on the planet. I’m so grateful that my work has made a difference for people and that they continue to share it with me!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Siesta Key Beach! It’s so beautiful with white sand and gorgeous sunsets! There is quartz crystal in the sand, and it’s an amazing energy vortex.

We would go get takeout at a nearby restaurant, have a beach picnic and watch the sunset! 🌅

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge Melanie Tonia Evans. She is such an inspiration, and is living her dream life in Australia. I am so grateful for her work and her friendship. What she does helps so many people, and is such a gift to the world. She sees who I really am, and encourages me to to live my best life. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her guidance, love and support.💛
