We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Pimentel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karina, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As an artist, balancing work life has been one of the most challenging, yet fulfilling, skills I have mastered over the years. For me, that process began back in college when I decided to attend Business School in the mornings, work as an office manager in the afternoons, and rehearse with my former band most nights. I knew that I had to continue my education, while still making money and pursuing my music dreams. Although it wasn’t easy at first, with time and experience I was able to find a harmonious balance throughout the different areas of my life. The key was to learn proper time-management and how to equally prioritize my career and artistic goals. Now I also see the work life balance as an ongoing journey, instead of a destination.

Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Because of the current situation in our country, I would make sure to plan many outdoor activities where we can safely socially distance. That would include yoga outside in my backyard, going to the beaches, lots of nature walks, a few hike trails, and some biking or skating. As far as food goes, both me and my best friend follow a vegan lifestyle, so we would probably take a trip to whole foods and get groceries to cook some delicious plant-based meals at home for the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people that deserve credit and recognition for their talent and contributions to my story. But specially my husband Gino Pimentel for designing all the artwork for my latest singles and the “Journey” album cover. And my long-time friend and music engineer Oscar AM for producing all the music in our latest album release.
