We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a deeply personal decision that grew from both passion and purpose. As a mental health professional, I had the privilege of working closely with women—especially mothers—during some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives. Over time, I noticed gaps in the kind of support many mothers were receiving, particularly around emotional health in the postpartum period.

I wanted to be able to offer what I needed when I became a mother. I was able to breastfeed my baby, even though I was back at the office 9 days after giving birth. I did not experience postpartum depression because of all the tools that I collected during my pregnancy. I am aware that not all mothers have the access to helpful information that can make a huge difference those first few days postpartum.

It wasn’t just about building a business—it was about healing parts of my self that were deeply hurt when I became a mother. I firmly believe that with the right information and support mother and baby can thrive during the postpartum period.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been shaped by a deep calling to accompany women through some of the most tender and transformative moments of their lives—especially during the postpartum period. I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, but more than the titles, what truly defines my work is my commitment to creating safe, compassionate spaces where women feel seen, heard, and understood.

The journey to where I am today has been far from easy. There have been seasons of doubt, burnout, and personal grief—moments when I questioned whether I could continue. But I’ve learned that healing is not linear, and neither is growth. What has sustained me is the deep passion I feel for supporting mothers in one of the most vulnerable and often overlooked times in their lives.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is launching my therapeutic program, Renacer Posparto, which helps mothers navigate the emotional intensity of the postpartum experience. Witnessing women reconnect with themselves and regain their emotional strength is the most meaningful reward I could ask for.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know about my work and my story, it’s this: I’m here to normalize the emotional journey of motherhood. To challenge the stigma that says motherhood must be painful or self-sacrificing. I believe motherhood and joy can—and should—coexist.

Motherhood is not victimhood. I truly believe that becoming a mother is an invitation to grow into the most empowered version of oneself. As someone who experienced deep sadness in childhood, I carry a personal mission: that every child deserves a happy mother. Our emotional worlds are interconnected. A healthy mother means a healthy child—and that’s where healing begins.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take my best friend for a cafecito con leche condensada at Sedano’s—it’s a little ritual that feels like home. From there, we’d spend the day exploring some of my favorite spots in Miami: Vizcaya Gardens for a touch of old-world beauty, the Miami History Museum to connect with the city’s roots, Coral Castle for its mystery, and of course, a sunset walk at South Pointe. We’d stroll through Little Havana to soak in the culture, music, and pastelitos.

When it comes to food, I’d have to take them to El Carajo—because who doesn’t love a gas station wine bar? Then maybe Flanigan’s for something casual and nostalgic, and Xixón for incredible Spanish food.

What I love most about Miami is how easy it is to step into nature. Between the parks, the ocean breeze, and all the open green spaces, there’s always somewhere to reset and reconnect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my shoutout goes to my college professor, Omar Castillo. He was a steady presence during one of the most difficult chapters of my life, and I honestly don’t know where I’d be today without his support.

Not only did he guide me through my thesis with patience and wisdom, but he also saw something in me at a time when I was struggling to see it in myself. His belief in my potential, his words of encouragement, and his quiet, unwavering support made a lasting impact on both my academic journey and my personal healing.

He reminded me that even in our most fragile moments, there is strength—and that has stayed with me ever since. I’ll always be grateful for his role in my story
