We had the good fortune of connecting with Karlee Rima and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karlee, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
For basically my entire life, I was a worker bee. an employee for someone else’s business. That’s what we’re taught, go to school, find a career that you like, and can earn a living doing for the foreseeable future. It was in my 30s, with two children at home, that I came to the realization that isn’t how it has to be! I converted a hobby, into a passion, and profitable business at the start of the pandemic. This will to prosper no matter what, showed our kids the importance of how we spend our time and the value of money, along the investment it takes to earn money to buy the simple pleasures in their lives.
What should our readers know about your business?
Hi! I’m Karlee, better known around village as “The Grove Girl”!
Welcome to your new one-stop shop for all things social and IRL: Social Media Management, Affiliate/Influencer Marketing, Content Creation and graphic design, 1:1 Coaching, Small Event Management AND always keeping things Grovey!
Previously working in Projects and Marketing directly with the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District, I developed long lasting working relationships with the local business owners and understand the time it takes to develop an engaging social media profile. Our focus remains the same now, as it was on Day One, let’s show the world why Coconut Grove has become a leading destination location!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With so much to do in the grove and so much to see, I’d be sure to share all the hidden gems that lie in Miami’s oldest city of Coconut Grove starting with a bike ride along the Commodore Trail from Cocoplum heading north, making sure to stop at the only sinkhole in Miami, the historic Carrollton grounds and state park and former home of The Munroe Middleton family, the historic Barnacle Park. Grab lunch at the Taurus or Greenstreet – depending on the wait time!
We’ll walk off the calories in Center grove and shop the local outdoor markets, make our way down to the Peacock Park Dock and admire the glistening Biscayne Bay views. Head back to our bikes to continue our ride down Bayshore Drive towards Vizcaya and the Key Biscayne bridge where we’ll transport back and between what Miami used to and currently is.
The evening is even more magical, stick around and I’ll share on that too!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I was in my 20s someone once told me we are all made up of the people we connect with. Little bits of me in you and you in me. That’s always stuck with me – the power of influence and using in it a way that benefits and connects us for a greater good. Influence that promotes change and unity. As a result, I would suppose everyone I work with from my clients to supporters of the brand deserve recognition for bringing The Grove Girl to life in 2018!
