We had the good fortune of connecting with Karlene Scarlett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karlene, what’s your definition for success?
My twin sister asked me this same question randomly while I was sitting outside on my patio enjoying seasonal 60-degree weather on a cool December day. I was outside watching my cat run around in the backyard while I was working on client projects. I have the freedom and flexibility to work on my terms, in my type of environment, and clock in or out whenever I feel like it. It hit me that this is how I define success.  

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Social Blessings, LLC strives to work with purpose-driven brands, entrepreneurs, and small businesses to deliver a solid social media strategy through one-on-one personalized Social Media Coaching. Our client roster includes local small businesses, startups, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations but we truly work with anyone making an impact on the community or for individuals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ft. Lauderdale Beach is a must! We’d also check out Sup Pup FTL and go paddleboarding on the intercoastal. For food (because we have to eat), I’d take them to Rocco’s Tacos on Las Olas for the best tacos and drinks in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My very good friend Natasha Baker! Natasha is the fierce black mermaid paddleboard instructor and founder of Sup Pup FTL. She operates one of the best social distancing activities for the past 3 years, and Mr. Beaches (super cute corgi) is her trusty co-host. I am grateful for her support as a friend and industry colleague that I can lean on anytime to run business ideas by and discuss common challenges that many business owners experience.
