Meet Katherine Bigott | CEO & Founder of BSocial Group Marketing Consultancy

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherine Bigott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katherine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As I evolved professionally in the field of Advertising & Public Relations, working in both boutique-style agencies and corporate firms, I developed a strong skillset and a deep understanding of client needs and management. I thrived in creating communication strategies and played a pivotal role in executing them. Often, when you work in fast-paced environments, your full potential isn’t fully realized.

As I continued to refine my client management and strategy-building skills while working at Republica Havas, I felt an ‘itch’ that quickly evolved into a vision of starting my own venture and offering marketing consultancy services on the side. And so, I took a risk and quit my full-time job, dedicating my time to reconnecting with brands in the Luxury Design Sector. This decision tapped into my experience and the relationships I had forged while working at a boutique-style agency early in my career.

Fast forward five years, and I am now the proud founder of my very own Marketing Consultancy practice. We specialize in developing strategic communication plans for brands in the Luxury Design Sector, including Pedini Miami, Addison House, Lutron, and Mia Appliances.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The journey to building your own business, practice, or firm is not easy, but it is rewarding and fulfilling, based on my experience. It is also not a linear path; there are numerous ups and downs, and you have to remain resilient in the face of adversity.

Managing a Marketing Consultancy goes hand in hand with working closely with clients to enhance their branding, strategy, social media, and digital presence, ultimately leading to increased sales. This also means that your interpersonal and communication skills must be sharp at all times. Building strong relationships and delivering high-quality work that aligns with a company’s business plan are what ultimately keep you in business. I believe successfully accomplishing this is what I am most proud of, and it’s also what sets me apart!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Miami and the ever evolving culture and scene. My recommended itinerary to anyone for a week long trip on our beautiful city would be to visit Museums such as the Rubell Family Collection or the Perez Art Museum for some artsy and experiential activities. I would tell them visiting Miami Beach, Ocean Drive & Lincoln Rd is a must to experience Miami in its most authentic form. I would also give them a list of my favorite restaurants ranging from small speakeasy to trendy spots such as: Boai De, Matsuri, Sapore di Mare, Level 6, Mila, Luna Pasta & Dolce, Pane & Vino, Mr. C.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a difficult question as I’ve had the privilege of crossing paths with several entrepreneurs who have played a significant role in my journey towards becoming an entrepreneur. They have not only inspired me but have also imparted valuable lessons that I continue to carry with me. I would like to express my gratitude for the mentorship and collaborative work I have experienced with Max Alcalay, the CEO & Founder of Addison House.

Five years ago, when I decided to venture out independently, Max was the first person who gave me the opportunity to provide Marketing Consultancy services for his company, and we continue to work together to this day.

Max’s dedication and passion, which he pours into his company on a daily basis, working closely with all departments and consistently striving to push the boundaries of his business to foster growth, are truly admirable.
