We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Parent and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katie, how does your business help the community?
My business offers a safe place to be vulnerable and heal through life’s greatest challenges in a variety of ways. We offer energy healing, therapeutic intervention, somatic work, soul level healing and spiritual guidance, podcast, group work and programs, virtual and in person, workshops and events, mediumship and tarot readings, business and life coaching, and holistic healing.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began my career as a licensed social worker and then entered the coaching world where I was able to reach people virtually as well as in person. The last 10 years have been frustrating, difficult, exhausting, and such a learning experience. Through the challenges of working late nights, long hours, multiple jobs and internships, investing money into learning, and constantly trying to support myself in the process, I have gained so much awareness, knowledge, and experience. I believe being a therapist and a social worker for the last 10 years gives me an advantage in the coaching world. I am trauma informed and I truly believe that there is a huge overlap between a coach and a therapist. However, a therapist has a different and well-versed skill set into truly helping someone deeply heal and transform their life. I never gave up on myself or my journey to become an independent and successful Entrepeneur. I am a healer, and I can earn money. I have overcome limiting beliefs, my own mental health concerns, my own trauma, and kept learning and growing. I now have a book out called The Seeking Safety Collection, to assist you in reclaiming safety in your mind. body, and soul.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I reside in the Hudson Valley, NY where there are so many incredible things to do. We have the scenic views, we are close to NYC, we have the breweries and wineries, there is hiking, good food and drinks, nature to meditate and appreciate, and lounging at some incredible coffee shops.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so grateful for the various mentors that I’ve had along the way. The individuals who have mentored me in my social work career, spiritual journey, and my friends and family who have stuck by my side while I sacrificed a lot of my time to mastering my craft.
