We had the good fortune of connecting with Katja Rauhe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katja, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
My humble suggestion: Be kind and helpful.

Being kind to the people I work with is something that always paid me back over the years.

Being kind and respectful allows me to communicate better, be more compassionate, it makes the connection easier, especially in the film industry where you work with new people every day.

The world we live in needs more love and kindness.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a German-American model and actress, mainly for the advertising industry.

You can find me in TV and web-commercials, in catalogs and different photography projects. Besides that I appeared in a few TV shows, movies, and I have stand-in and runway experience.

In 2019 my face was featured on New York’s Time Square for an international H&M Campaign and my latest project is a small role in an Amazon Prime show that will air in February 2022.

Born and raised in beautiful Germany, I love living in South Florida.

I’m always looking for interesting new projects.

I am 45 years old now and my message to you is: You are never too old.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city… while I love my small town Dania Beach I do enjoy certain restaurants on the water in Fort Lauderdale, like the newly opened YOT, 15th Street Fisheries or other classical seafood restaurants like Southport Rawbar.

If I were to show my best friend around South Florida I would definitely plan a trip to the Florida keys.
My favorite Island is Islamorada with amazing places like Morada Bay or Islamorada Fishing company. Also, you can’t visit the keys without a stop at The Blonde Giraffe Café in Tavernier.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I first started working in the entertainment industry in Florida I had very little knowledge about how the biz really works. During one of my first TV jobs I met a seasoned actor on set of “Burn Notice”, Pearce Blair – may he Rest In Peace <3

He was a very kind man, encouraging and he helped me connect with the right people, better agents, best photographers, and so on. He kept checking in on me often until I was up on my feet. He gave advise when I needed an honest opinion.
He always said: All I want is for you to return the favor to someone else one day, which I did and still do.

Not only because he told me, because I truly find joy in being helpful.
