We had the good fortune of connecting with Kay Kash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kay, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Modeling is reflection of your inner self. The ‘outer’ image is only the aesthetic and so, you can’t lose sight of the inner image, or who you really are. Don’t become distracted trying to remain aesthetically pleasing & forget what you were really trying to express to begin with. It is a challenge of self-worth and persistence! The beginning is rough, and you won’t see all the ‘impressive’ parts of modeling until you put the appropriate time & discipline into your craft.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I feel what sets me apart from others is my height for sure. I’m much shorter than my counterparts in this industry, but I never let that stop me. I still submit to opportunities and still cast for shows I want to be a part of, just to be sure that I never sell myself short of any opportunity (no pun intended). That’s probably the biggest obstacle I face on a regular basis as a creative— height requirements. In order to take my brand to a new level and be able to elevate it, a lesson I’ve learned to be successful is to release the ‘need’ to achieve things your peers are achieving— you are not them. Comparison really is the thief of joy. You have to be proud of what you produce (and of yourself) before anyone else can appreciate what you’re putting out. Something I want to leave readers with today, is that I am a woman of many trades & being a model/creative has given me confidence to pursue anything I want; if I work for it I will have it. Be on the lookout for my newest business ventures coming 2026, that include plans for a new Holistic health service that I created to bridge a gap between patients who need access to Hemp/CBD/THC Products that heal them naturally, and can also combine this with a plant-based or organic health regimen for added benefit and balance to each patient’s immune system. For the people who follow me closely, there will be lots more information to go around in the months approaching to inform you how to get involved, if this interests you. My next venture in modeling will definitely be geared towards travel/out of state bookings.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Florida has so much to do, let alone in Miami! I’d be here all day listing all my faves, but if I had a week to take my bestie around I would begin at my Top 5 Favorite Spots— in no particular order. Destination #1 would be Smorgasburg Miami. This is a very unique spot in Wynwood that has multiple food vendors ranging from American cuisine and BBQ, to Asian Street food & Authentic Spanish Paella! They have sweets and fresh juices also, so it’s always a hit. They’re also a 5 minute walk to Destination #2, which is Wynwood Skate. On the weekends, you can skate during the daytime, but it is mainly an outdoor Rollerskating rink operating in the sunset hours— open until 10pm! Probably the perfect way to end the night after a late lunch at Smorgasburg. Another nighttime fav of mine in Miami is Destination #3 on my list; Puttshack Miami, nestled in the heart of Brickell. Fifteen minutes away from Wynwood Skate, this is an “adultified” mini-golf course, that has a full bar, restaurant and multiple floors with different levels of difficulty for your liking. You can take your cocktails on the course as you play & you can eat at the bar while you wait for your tee time, with no pressure to race to the front because they hold your place in line digitally! It’s literal heaven. Destination #4 is Doce Provisions in Miami. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I love Cuban food altogether, but I definitely have a soft spot for this lovely little Cuban restaurant. They serve a dish called “Arroz Imperial Cubano”, which is my favorite dish. It’s like a mini Paella, with sweet plantains and Braised chicken, topped with Queso Fresco. They serve signature drinks and cocktails, freshly-squeezed juices and locally sourced ingredients! You can seriously taste the love in the food and drinks, so this is a must for a first timer in Little Havana, Miami. Now, my last Destination on my list is outside of Miami, but oh so worth the ride up to Boca Raton, FL. Destination #5 is Cinnaholic, where you can build your own Cinnamon rolls and add as many toppings and flavored icings you prefer. You can also get a Signature Roll, which all come decked out for you, but everything is customizable. The real star of the show there, ironically, is the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread! You can’t leave South Florida without stopping at any of these places!! Kay Kash approved.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, God! He has definitely heard my inner desires and made this all possible. I’ve been walking around my house on my tippy toes, prepping for the runway since 7 years old! Detrick Sawyer, founder and designer for Dsaw Denim Label, deserves this shoutout for SURE. He gave me my first opportunity to walk on a runway & honored me as his muse before he passed a few years ago, May he rest in peace. He submitted me to numerous events & gave me free, and at times, paid opportunities to grow my portfolio in new, edgy pieces. Rich, along with his ROV Productions family and Deuntay Johnson, for always being available for a shoot and coming through with great edits and shots! They made possible the access to great photography & trusted service, which is key for a new Model. Thank you guys for never doing bad business! These people were the foundation to my start here in Miami, and I’m forever grateful for their genuine nature(s).
