We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Master and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

Risk takes faith and a willingness to step out of our comfort zone and into unknown territory. That can be scary. But if you fight the fear, bypass excuses, and take that risk anyway, it’s exhilarating. I would have never impacted thousands of lives had I not been willing to take the risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am the founder and director of a non-profit organization named For Dignity and a Transformational Speaker and Author. My non-profit work takes me into prisons, jails, recovery homes, and the streets with a message of hope which helps people rise from cycles of defeat.

I have authored two books, SHINE-Uplifting Words for Girls in Stilettos and Fierce & Free- Ignite Your Potential, and have guest blogged for several online publications.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

New Jersey is well known for its beautiful beaches and boardwalks, and I would take my friends to the Jersey Shore, either Ocean City or Cape May. Of course, every visit to New Jersey would only be complete with jumping on the train, crossing the bridge, and checking out Philadelphia, home of the Phillies and Eagles. We could visit the infamous Love Park, Chinatown, or Reading Terminal Market. For my Rocky-loving friends, we could trace his steps at the art museum.

New Jersey has beautiful, historic small towns with fantastic coffee shops, ethnic dining, farmers’ markets, walking trails, and unique shopping experiences. I would take my friends to some of my favorite places, Harvest Coffee in Medford, Good Beet in Haddon Township, and Normas Mediterranean in Cherry Hill.

My husband, Michael, cheers me on throughout this wild journey.
