We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Dean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was in my last semester of college finishing up my Bachelor’s in Business Administration and working at a law firm for my internship. I did not have any creative outlets and was keen on connecting with individuals who shared similar interests to me. I have always loved watching vlogs on youtube documenting daily life, home decor, organization, etc. I downloaded TikTok and discovered “restocks” and home organization vlogs. I thrive in a clean and organized environment and was constantly tidying up and reorganizing my space so I decided to start filming content documenting the process. I discovered my love for editing and my appreciation for having a passion project outside of my corporate job. I decided to commit to posting everyday and accumulated 100K followers within a span of 4 months. I started receiving opportunities to partner with brands and realized filming content could be more than a passion project.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of my main career goals is to create lasting relationships with brands and to collaborate in bringing their vision/products to life on video. On occasion I accept sponsorships for my social media accounts, but I primarily focus on creating videos for brands to use on their own social media pages. I did not enjoy working from an office or being away from my dog Willow and I researched other ways to make money aside from the traditional 9 to 5 route. I believe everyone should enjoy their work as so much of our time is spent cultivating and nourishing our careers. I am grateful to be living in a time where there are so many more options than when my parents were starting their careers. I encourage anyone who is feeling stuck to take the next step in your journey of creating a career that will excite you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My first recommendation to anyone in search of the perfect date night is to check out Rooftop Cinema Club in South Beach. Rooftop Cinema Club offers beautiful views of the city, great food and drinks and an array of new and old movies to watch. To anyone with children I would recommend Superblue Miami which is an interactive art exhibit that includes a floor to ceiling digital flower show, a mirror maze and a room where you can listen to your heart beat through lights. I am an avid coffee drinker and would employ anyone visiting to try Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar for all your caffeine needs. If you are looking to spend time in nature I would recommend Key Biscayne, with gorgeous views of the water and nearby food trucks, it is the perfect spot if you are not a fan of how crowded South Beach can get. Lastly, you can’t forget Bayside Marketplace for day time shopping and Brickell for exciting nightlife.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom is truly my biggest source of comfort in life and she has given me nothing but encouragement, support and love throughout all life’s chapters. I also have to mention my boyfriend as he was the main driving force behind starting my TikTok. I initially treated filming as a fun afternoon project to allow me to express creativity outside of my day job, but he always saw a bigger opportunity. He would help me to brainstorm creative concepts for new videos and offer support when I was discouraged by negative comments or underperforming videos.
