We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsley Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsley, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
What a question! One that I have asked myself several times throughout my influencer career. Ultimately I always land on the same answer. If I’m PASSIONATE about it, keep going! The going sometimes looks different though. I’ve learned how to pivot and keep going, scale back and keep going, but as long as I’m moving forward, that’s where success is found for me!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always loved creating! From video content to DIY projects, from home decor to event planning. I love bringing things to life in a unique way. Being a multi-faceted person, I’m always busy with something but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being able to share my gifts, ideas, and talents. Currently, I’m diving more into the travel and event planning space as I prepare for my 3-week European tour. This trip has really allowed me to combine two things I love (travel and planning) while creating an organized trip itinerary that I will be sharing online. It’s going to be great! I’d love to make this profitable in the future and offer my services to help plan and organize trips for others.

I got to where I am today with perseverance and diligence. Whenever someone approaches me about wanting to enter the influencer/content creator industry I tell them to let their passion fuel their work. You have to stay consistent, you have to push past your challenges, your feelings. You have to focus on why you’re doing what you’re doing, and keep going! So whether you commit to creating every day or 2x a week, stick with it.

As much as I love the life I’ve created, the road isn’t always easy. I’ve been in the content creation industry for over 7 years! It’s hard not to measure your success by views, engagement, feedback, opportunities (or lack thereof), and the “success” of your peers. I overcame these challenges by focusing on creating with purpose; measuring success by the goals I set and achieve for myself. Comparison will always steal your joy, but once I changed my mindset to focus on myself and what I’m doing, everything changed for the better!

I want the world to be inspired by my creativity. To have confidence in yourself (from the inside- out) and the gifts that you possess. We all have something unique and great inside of us, and I hope that when people see me, and see my brand they are challenged to let their own greatness shine!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a brunch girl, always and forever! So I’d start by taking them to brunch along the Hudson River with beautiful NYC views! Taverna Veranda and Halifax are my faves. Shopping at the American Dream mall because Primark is a MUST, we love good fashion on a budget! Head to Carpaccio for dinner and end the night at Alto Rooftop in Montclair for good vibes and good music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I don’t know where I’d be without my friends and family! I’m so blessed to have people in my life who push me towards greatness, who see the greatness inside of me and pull it out. It’s good to have people in your corner who only want to see you WIN. In addition to my friends and family, I love connecting with people online and I’m grateful for the genuine community I’ve been able to build through social networks! I also love love love books for the mind and soul. It’s a great way to learn, perfect your craft, and stay inspired and focused on your goals.
