We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra LaRoche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendra, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Jacksonville, FL but never stayed in one place long. I have lived all over Florida and many other states and currently reside in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. In a small coastal town along the Gulf of Mexico. Growing up we moved a lot. I was fortunate enough to have many different backgrounds to my childhood. The landscapes of New Hampshire to the tropical foliage of South Florida. The natural beauty surrounding me I have to believe plays a part in my love for plants and my passion to bring plants to my clients homes.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Loft & Leaf we take a creative approach to landscaping. We like to offer clients more than just a basic landscape plan. We want to transform them to their favorite vacation spot with the greenery we fill their spaces with. We want tropical oasis for their foyer or sunroom. We bring the outside in by transforming spaces with plants. We offer interior and exterior plants and design.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were coming into town I would start with a post flight coffee at Black Bear and a quick dip at Grayton Beach. We would get ready for dinner and make our reservations at Surfing Deer for vegan wings and cocktails. The next day we would wake up early to paddle board to the artificial reef in Grayton Beach and bring our snorkels to see some cool fish. We would grab lunch at Chringo after! We would stop by Gafferys Art Gallery and admire the pieces and then head to seaside for afternoon shopping. We would make sure to stop in The Art of Simple for cool nic nacks and gifts. Later that evening we would meet up with friends for dinner and drinks at Daytrader Tiki Bar. On Sunday we would hit the Rosemary Beach farmers market and grab coffee from Amavida. We would then travel a little off the beaten path and head to the west side of pcb for some time in the sun and Vietnamese food at Pho pier 77.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Loft & Leaf is without a doubt a group effort. Without the loving support of my soon to be husband, Andrew, I would not have had the confidence to take the leap of faith I did for Loft & Leaf. Also my sister who has along side me grown a business and helped shape Loft & Leaf to what it is today. Many others continue to inspire me and uplift and I have so much gratitude for these friends and family.
