Hi Kerri-Ann, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My motivation stems from a personal experience with my father’s vision issues. This emotional connection was a powerful driving force, providing a deep sense of purpose and commitment to my business.

Recognizing a need for optometric services and eyewear. Understanding the demand for these services has directed me into a successful business of eyecare and eyewear.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company was founded from my deep passion to eradicate eye diseases and help people with their vision. While growing up, my dad experienced serious eye complications that ultimately left him blind. In my quest to find a cure, I entered the field of optometry and started De’Cordova Eyewear, named in honor of my father, Bernard De’Cordova Coombs.

At De’Cordova Eyewear, you will find eye care experts disciplined in treating the eyes. Our services include full comprehensive eye exams for all ages. Our doctors and specialty experts have a wide range of experience. Our office has an inviting bookshelf, café, and eye spa to help our patients relax and enjoy a new, enriching experience during their eye exams while learning and enlightening their eyes, enhancing their lives.

As the author of ‘A Girl with a Big Vision’ tells of the challenges to overcome self-doubt, even when those close to you don’t believe in your dreams and vision. The book, much like my story, demonstrates how, with determination, faith, and courage, we can overcome these issues. The book imparts the lesson to always believe in your dreams and vision.

We care about one’s overall well-being, from the physical eye to the internal eye, enlightening you on the journey from childhood to adulthood

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many amazing places in Houston. I would definitely try something new. Brunch in Houston is amazing, and a nice walk in our cool atmosphere can be relaxing. Ending a night with spa treatments and self-care would be ideal.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God’s consistent love has carried me on my journey. I would like to recognize my mother and father, family and friends who continue to support the mission and journey of vision.
