We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerry-Ann Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerry-Ann, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
My career/business has taught me there is more than one way to be successful and that the road is for those who can endure. Having your own business, there are a lot of risks you have to take, there will be good days and bad. Days you feel like giving up but you have to keep pushing. If you are not in it for the long run and the up’s and down…don’t do it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career started in Media, that’s what I studies in school. My degree is Bachelors of the Arts in Media Production and a minor in Film Studies. It was challenging for me, while applying for jobs in the field all I heard was ‘No’ so I decided to create my own which is where The On My Mind Series came in. The OMMS was a show covering events and interviewing celebs. The show was very successful and it was where i realized I was able to be compensated for being me. For me doing the show was easy, easy for me to shoot conceptualize and edit. The latter part though I started for focus on my brand Joli Faire-Which is a hair brand. I put on the market the Joli Faire Organic Hair Growth Oil which now, is doing very well. I was not easy because I was getting a lot of chargeback on some sales which as a young trying business owner it was hard. I ended up putting Joli Faire on pause. At that time I was selling Hair Extensions. I restarted, rebranded with the Growth Oil and it is doing very well now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Due to Covid things are a bit different when it comes to enjoying ‘outside’ to the max. But if my friends were in town I would definitely take them to the City, NYC that is. There is so much to do in the city that never sleeps. An evening in Times Square is a must, shopping on 5th ave. Eating at Capital Grille, I like Friday’s too, we’d have to hit up a bar or 2, we’d have to see a play and check out the museums.
