We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Hirshorn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, what do you attribute your success to?
Persistence. When I started my podcast production company, I didn’t have a great deal of work history to show for it. Therefore, getting clients was a challenge. My job was waking up every morning, and submitting 10-20 job submissions, waiting for that one client to give me a chance.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Pre-pandemic, I was a full-time working musician. I would perform 100-200+ gigs per year at various corporate events, parties, weddings, etc. I loved it, but was also starting to get a bit burnt out, especially with the late nights. Late last year, I decided to open a profile on one of the most popular freelancing sites. I had a good deal of knowledge in audio editing for music, and want to try and see if I could create a second stream of income, ideally during the day and from home. I then somehow fell upon the idea of providing audio editing and production services for clients that have their own podcasts. After a few months trying to built my client feedback profile, the podcast business started to take off. Fast foward to March of this year, and it exploded. Just as I lost all of my gigs performing due to the pandemic, the podcast industry really skyrocketed. The rest is history.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Either Disney World or the Florida Keys
