We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Huntting and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Put simply – belief and purpose. My belief that we can create a kinder and more compassionate world. It’s my North Star and it is the one thing that I constantly come back to when I am feeling disengaged, stalled, or stuck. I go back to why I launched my leadership coaching practice and remind myself that it is linked to a greater mission. One that is founded in creating greater human connection and understanding. We live in such turbulent times and it’s a beautiful reminder that we certainly share more in common in our day-to-day lives if we just allow ourselves the opportunity to truly see, hear and know those people who we are quick to judge as “different”. Attach yourself and your organization to a genuinely, lived purpose and the benefits you and your team experience are innumerable. This one simple question can help you gain some clarity in identifying your purpose…”What would the world lose if your company disappeared?”

What should our readers know about your business?
2 Steps Forward Coaching supports overwhelmed purpose driven leaders & organizations develop the awareness to lead with greater ease, inspiration and impact! And, what separates my practice is a my 6-week program called Leading KINDER™. The program is changing the paradigm of leadership by asking the question…What if the primary measure of effective leadership is what you feel? What people think & feel directly correlates to their leadership potential, overall satisfaction & their levels of productivity! Also, the coaching modality that I use is a unique differentiator as the focus is on ENERGY and Energy Leadership.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You have to know my close friend Michael Braga, yet after reading my recommended itinerary it will definitely give you more insight into who he is and what we both enjoy! First stop is dinner at Old Lisbon restaurant as the food and decor is inviting and the service is amazing. You can order a traditional Portuguese dish of Bacalhau (so many to choose from) and indulge in a mouth watering glass of Vinho Verde. The following day we would drive to Miami Beach and take in some sea, sun and people watching and then take a siesta in the afternoon. The evening includes reservations at Ariete in Coconut Grove (the most amazing foie gras) and a dining experience like no other! We would close out the weekend by taking a trip to Wynwood and to see all the inspiring international graffiti and then make a quick jaunt to the Rubell Museum and take in all the intoxicating artwork!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to three special women who have helped inspire, inform and shape who I am and the importance I place on creating a kinder more compassionate world. The first one is my mother. The second my grandmother (may she RIP), and the last is Dr. Patricia Hill Collins.
