Meet Khadijah Muhammad | Entrepreneur & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Khadijah Muhammad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khadijah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Trenton, New Jersey and lived there until I was 12, then my family moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up in New Jersey, I moved around quite a bit and experienced a variety of educational environments—I was homeschooled for a period and also attended charter schools, African-centered schools, and a Muslim school. That experience taught me how to adapt quickly and connect with all kinds of people early on.
Once we moved to Nashville, life became more stable. I had a pretty normal suburban life, and that consistency gave me the space to really start discovering who I was. Nashville is often seen as a small city, but it’s surprisingly diverse. I went to school with people from all kinds of backgrounds, and I’m grateful my family always placed me in diverse environments. It helped shape me into someone who’s open-minded, curious, and confident navigating different spaces.
I’m the middle child in a busy household, and being the first-born daughter came with a lot of independence and responsibility. My parents worked a lot, but they always emphasized entrepreneurship, creativity, and thinking for yourself. That mindset stuck with me. I remember in 4th grade, I was already making and selling custom t-shirts with glitter and animal graphics to my classmates—that was my first real intro to entrepreneurship.
I was also a creative kid—I loved makeup, fashion, cheerleading, and theater. Around age 12, I got into watching beauty tutorials and outfit videos on YouTube. Artists like Drake and Nicki Minaj were huge influences on me—they inspired my confidence and sense of self-expression.
All of these experiences—growing up in two very different places, being exposed to a variety of educational and cultural settings, and being encouraged to lead with creativity—shaped me into someone who’s resilient, adaptable, and driven. I’ve always believed in turning passion into purpose, and that’s a mindset I carry into everything I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create beauty and lifestyle content online that’s centered around building self-confidence and authenticity, especially for women in their 20s and 30s. My work focuses on helping young women step into their womanhood—whether that’s through makeup, personal style, or character development. I want women to feel empowered to express themselves through clothing that feels true to them and to build inner confidence while learning tangible skills. I share my content on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, and I also co-founded a sustainable fashion brand called Femme Exchange with my best friend Gabrielle Cydney. It’s a brand that focuses on women’s clothing and accessories that are resold, combining fashion and sustainability. What sets me apart is my unique upbringing and the way it shaped my ability to connect with all kinds of people. I’ve moved through so many different environments—different schools, cultures, and communities—which taught me how to truly see people and meet them where they are. I believe my ability to genuinely connect and embrace others, especially women, is a gift. There’s something powerful about creating space for women to feel seen, heard, and confident—and that’s the heart of everything I do. I’m most proud of my current journey as a student at the University of Miami, studying in the business school. It’s been such a meaningful chapter in my life—not just academically, but personally. I’ve learned so much already, and being in a city like Miami has been an education in itself. The culture, the energy, and the diversity here constantly pushes me to grow, stay open-minded, and think bigger about what’s possible for my future. I got to where I am professionally by saying “yes” to opportunities—even when they were new, unfamiliar, or outside of my comfort zone. I’ve had the chance to intern with Dugard Communications and Rye Studios with Mariah Houghton, which allowed me to gain hands-on experience in both PR and creative production. These experiences taught me valuable lessons in branding, client relations, and creating meaningful content. Every opportunity has added something valuable to my journey. Right now, I’m in a new chapter—starting over in Miami, focusing on my education, and embracing student life while also growing my personal brand and online community. I’m learning to see the value in every stage and understanding that growth doesn’t only come from a title or a job—it comes from showing up, staying curious, and being open to evolution. It hasn’t been an “easy” journey, but I’ll say that everything has felt like it’s been in flow. I’ve learned to work hard for what I want, but also to not force anything that isn’t meant for me. I believe in showing up consistently, staying focused on my goals, and trusting that the right doors will open at the right time. While things haven’t always been smooth, I’ve realized that they’re always worth it when you keep your eyes on the prize. For me, the journey is ongoing, and my ultimate goal is to become a Founder, Entrepreneur, Content Creator, and Model. I know that nothing in life worth having comes easy, but I’m committed to putting in the work to make it happen. I overcome challenges by grounding myself. Whenever I face obstacles, I take a step back to assess the situation from all angles. I believe overcoming challenges requires strategy, so I use my time to reflect, talk to God, and discuss the situation with trusted friends who have gone through similar experiences. Having that support system and a clear mindset helps me stay focused and navigate through challenges with a sense of purpose. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to fail forward and fail fast. If something isn’t working, I don’t get discouraged—I keep trying and make adjustments along the way. Another key lesson is to stay open-minded and push myself to try things outside of my comfort zone. I truly believe that growth happens when we step beyond what feels familiar and challenge ourselves to evolve. I want the world to know that I am Khadijah Muhammad—a woman first, a sister, a friend, and a daughter. My brand represents the woman who is dedicated to growth in every aspect of her life. I create to empower and uplift women, helping them build confidence and embrace their true selves. Through my work, I aim to build a genuine community of women who love life, love themselves, and are always on a journey of self-mastery, growing in their confidence and womanhood.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So I’ve been in Miami for about 4 months now and I’m still discovering the city, to be honest. But when my best friend visits, I’m definitely taking her to Sadelle’s in Coconut Grove for brunch or breakfast vibes. After that, we’d pop into Big Face for coffee. We’d probably also hit up Miami Pilates Company for a class, and then stop by Uma Lu Vintage since I’ve been wanting to go there since moving here. For dinner, we’d go to either Delilah or Giselle. Then, for shopping, we’d hit up Bal Harbour Shops and hang out in Key Biscayne. We’d probably also visit Fort Lauderdale, walk around, and try to find a new restaurant for dinner. And of course, we’d hang out at the beach at some point because, it’s Miami. But honestly, if we didn’t know what else to do, we’d just go on TikTok for recommendations.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely—if I had to dedicate my shoutout to anyone, it would be my older brother, Sabir.
He’s played such a powerful role in my journey, especially when it comes to mindset, consistency, and ambition. Sabir has always been someone who leads by example. He’s more reserved in some ways, very much to himself, but when it comes to action—he moves boldly. I’ve watched him take risks, stay disciplined, and push himself without ever needing applause or recognition.
What’s always stood out to me is his resilience. I’ve never seen him complain or make excuses. He just does the work, every single day, and keeps leveling up. Watching him made me believe I could do the same. He introduced me to podcasts, encouraged me to invest in my growth, and constantly reminded me that the world is mine if I’m willing to work for it.
Sabir might not even realize how much of an influence he’s had on me, but his impact runs deep. He definitely deserves this shoutout and all the recognition for being the quiet force behind so much of my confidence and drive.
