We had the good fortune of connecting with Khadine Barton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khadine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After an eight year stint in the corporate world, I wasn’t very happy, I felt somewhat unfulfilled. I wanted a certain level of creative freedom and the opportunity to turn my hobby into a full time business. To do what I love for the rest of working life was something I began to crave. So I went out on a limb and did it!
Have not regretted that decision since.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Nail and Beauty Technology has been apart of my life as far as I can remember. I started off at 14 years old doing services for my family, friends, Teachers and pretty much anyone who would let me lol. After High school, I pursued a law. Practicing as a Legal Secretary/Conveyancer for several years whilst providing nail and beauty services part time.
During such time I got married and gave birth to the most amazing daughter anyone can ask for.
Unfortunately the marriage did not work out and I was forced to make a lifestyle change. It was at that moment I decided to make the leap and leave the corporate world behind and pursue a career in Beauty.
The first 2 years were extremely difficult but I never gave up. I gave up my social life and everything in between to strengthen this business.
It was all worth it!
I’ve turned my hustle into a business!
Navigated throughout the Covid era and still standing strong!
Don’t mean to toot my own horn, but it’s almost impossible to get an appointment with me unless it’s booked at least two months in advance. This type of freedom didn’t come easily though, hard work and dedication lead to this.
Being a mom and business woman has it challenges however I would not change anything about it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I’m blessed to have the love and support of my family, dear friends and loyal clients.

My Mom is my Mentor. Her drive and determination as a single parent has allowed me to become the woman I am today.
