We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiki Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiki, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the Architect of the Universe “God” and his amazing creation called planet earth. Just the fact that we are able to wake up every morning is a source of inspiration because it is one more opportunity to create, compose, give, understand, bless and learn from others. Furthermore, I am inspired by how my music, books, prayers, and actions somehow will bring a positive contribution to others. Finally, I believe that our mission as a human beings is to give, and therefore, it is something that I am practicing consistently to create a better world.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am known as a Latin Jazz/Jazz Artist nevertheless; I consider myself a Producer. This is what I enjoy the most to create, innovate, combine and incorporate new sounds into this art form called music and this is what sets me apart from others. I am very proud of my production company KikiSanchezMusic because every single project we have done has been broadcast on the radio and television that makes me proud and happy. Furthermore, in my humble opinion, I have the greatest musicians, technicians, and business individuals in the world working with me such as Daniel Berroa (Percussion), Hugo Bravo (Afro-Peruvian Percussion), Reinier Guerra Drums, Rafael Valencia (Bass), Franco Jimenez (Trombone), Peter Francis (Trumpet), Julian Cifuentes (Trumpet & Sound Engineer), Edilio Bermudez (Strings), Gio Beta, Maria Broom, Charmaine Sandford (Background Vocals), Adrian Calmet Ladines (Video Editor), Juan Carlos Castillo (Video Director), Patty Vargas (Recording Label and Business Partner), Kimberly Chmura (Booking Agent), Angela Shlyakhov (Business Partner), Juan Carlos Flores Ruiz (Photo Editor) and Juan Carlos Barguil (Publishing and Licensing). They are the ones that make KikiSanchezMusic a serious prestigious music production company. In addition, I have a Cigar business KikiSanchezCigars in partnership with my Mason brother Patrick Glover. Together we are doing an amazing job running that business; we have the best cigars on the market and I am very proud of it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Little Havana (Calle 8) is the place where you can experience the Miami culture; from a Cuban Mojito all the way to a cigar. There are several great restaurants, places, and venues in that area. It is a fun place full of great energy and people. Miami is a multicultural place. I am a Peruvian that loves Cuban food and Soul Breakfast (Fried fish, eggs, and grids) that is the beauty of living here. We all are here to learn from each other and to contribute to the new Miami culture. There are several places and areas to visit for instance; Miami Beach (South Beach), The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Little Havana, Little Haiti, and many other amazing places that this city has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to all the people that have perished due to the Covid virus.
