Hi Kim, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me, it was a burning desire to be in control of my own destiny. The spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation flows through my veins, so it was only a matter of time before I embarked on a journey that truly fulfills me. From a young age, fashion has captivated my heart, and the thrill of creating stylish ensembles with the perfect accessories has always been exhilarating. I’ve always strived to stand out from the crowd, and now, I aim to offer my customers a taste of luxury without breaking the bank.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other jewelry brands is my knack for design. Design is not only a skill I possess but a form of creative expression that resonates with me on a personal level. I have a profound appreciation for aesthetics, particularly the subtle charm of monochromatic hues. Whether it’s the sleekness of black or the simplicity of white, I see beauty in their purity and sophistication. My passion for design extends beyond visual appeal; I am also deeply interested in the art of jewelry packaging and branding. I firmly believe that the way a piece of jewelry is presented is just as significant as the jewelry itself, which is why I dedicate myself to crafting packaging that enhances and accentuates the jewelry it encases.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, what an exciting question! Let me share my quick Fort Lauderdale guide, often overshadowed by glamorous Miami. First up is Las Olas Boulevard, the vibrant heart of Fort Lauderdale and the main hub for entertainment. It’s a charming street lined with boutiques, high-end eateries, cozy cafes, and top-notch hotels. The area can get lively, especially at night, but it’s great for a leisurely walk, a bike ride, or catching a happy hour deal during the day. Next, Fort Lauderdale boasts over 300 miles of waterways, earning it the title of the “Venice of America.” Locals and tour companies offer kayaking or paddle boarding excursions through Las Olas Isles, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Middle River, and the New River. Moving on to the third spot, visit Ann’s Florist and Coffee Bar, a beloved gem on Las Olas Blvd. The delightful mix of fresh blooms and aromatic coffee will linger with you long after your visit. Last but certainly not least, let’s indulge in some unique shopping at one of BIBI & KIM’s pop-up shops. Trust me, these markets are a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind finds. In honor of the incredible woman who shaped my life and my business, I want to give a special shoutout to my mother, the inspiration behind BIBI & KIM. Her name, Bibiana, is beautifully represented in the nickname BIBI, which I proudly incorporate into my business name. Although she left us unexpectedly in April 2019, her spirit continues to guide me as I create jewelry pieces that blend our unique styles – a perfect fusion of modern and vintage.
