We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first started photography, I would take on any and every job that came my way! I was so focused one making as much money as I could while sacrificing personal time for me or my family.
I had to learn how to balance my time. I decided to give my self at LEAST one or two days off. Even if it means losing jobs, I always make sure to have date nights once a week with my husband, and some time off to relax and disconnect.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer that prides on capturing moments that cannot be recreated or posed. The sweet in-between moments to look back to. I am proud of the work I perform and deliver, and I am so excited to keep growing my business while celebrating important event for others,
It wasn’t easy to get where I am today. It took a lot of hard work, sacrifice, long work days, and even tears along the way. But you have to keep going and keep working hard until you’re proud of what you’ve built!
I learned that things are not handed to you. Reward comes with hard work!
If there’s something that I would like people to know about me, is that I will give my ALL to their wedding, orally session. I recently got married and I know what it’s like to look back to those special moments and want to relive them. I will always be seeking moments!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s nothing like Miami’s views! I love taking a walk in South Pointe Park along the water to catch the sunset behind Miami’s skyline, followed by some good bites In Wynwood!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give the credit to my husband! He’s pushed me and believed in me more than I could’ve by myself. He encourages me daily, pushes me to take risk, and has taught me to not limit myself. It’s true when they say that 2 is better than 1. I have no doubt that by myself I would’ve been successful. But with this encouragement and help, he’s pushed me even further.
