Hi Kimberly, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

The most important factor behind my success is my ability to think divergently. This approach enables me to see possibilities and connections that others might miss. It has become the foundation of my professional edge, allowing me to develop campaigns and strategies that stand out for their originality and effectiveness. Whether I’m analyzing data or brainstorming ideas, my unique way of thinking gives me an ability to deeply understand audiences, anticipate their needs, and craft solutions that exceed expectations.

I’ve learned that being different is a strength, not a weakness. By embracing my distinct perspective, I’ve been able to create work that not only achieves measurable results but also resonates on a deeper, more meaningful level.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I’ve always been drawn to the power of storytelling, and advertising has provided me with a platform to bring stories to life. From a young age, I dreamed of leading impactful campaigns, but my journey toward that dream wasn’t without its challenges. Those challenges, however, shaped my resilience, creativity, and drive.

After earning first-class honours in Integrated Marketing Communications, I went on to work with some of the top advertising agencies in my country. It was an invaluable experience that allowed me to hone my skills and lead high-impact campaigns. However, I eventually realized that to grow and achieve my full potential, I needed to forge my own path.

Starting my own agency was both an act of courage and a leap of faith. It was a chance to create an environment that valued innovation, collaboration, and balance. While the transition wasn’t easy, it allowed me to apply everything I had learned, not just about advertising but also about leadership and personal growth. Today, I’m proud to lead a business that delivers standout results while fostering meaningful client relationships.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that betting on yourself is always worth it. Success doesn’t come from trying to fit into a mold—it comes from trusting your unique perspective and finding the courage to step outside your comfort zone.

Tell us about your podcast and how it connects to your work.

I am the host and producer of a podcast that was formerly known as Candid Convos with Kim and has since evolved into Candid Convos with Kháe. This transformation reflects not only a shift in branding but also a broader focus on social commentary and social wellness.

The podcast serves as a space for open, honest conversations about the challenges and opportunities we face as individuals and as a society. Through insightful discussions with thought leaders and changemakers, I aim to spark critical thinking and inspire listeners to embrace growth and self-awareness.

What excites me most about this platform is its ability to reach people on a personal level. The conversations we have aren’t just about sharing ideas—they’re about creating a sense of connection and encouraging positive change.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Jamaica is a treasure trove of experiences, and I always make it a point to showcase the best it has to offer. We’d start with a visit to The Coppers, a restaurant that combines exceptional food, a serene garden setting, and live jazz music for an unforgettable dining experience.

For adventure, we’d head to Chukka for activities like zip-lining, horseback riding, and river tubing. Jamaica’s natural beauty is unmatched, and these experiences allow you to immerse yourself in it fully. To cap off the trip, we’d spend a Sunday yachting with close friends. There’s something magical about being out on the water, surrounded by stunning views and a sense of calm that’s hard to find anywhere else.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have people in my life who have believed in me, encouraged me, and inspired me to keep pushing forward, especially my family and close friends. Their support has been a constant source of motivation, and I am deeply grateful for the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
