We had the good fortune of connecting with Kisha Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ideally, I was happy to offer assistance to persons through the products I formulated and created myself that were experiencing same or similar skin condition issues like I was. I must admit, I knew nothing about business and what it will take to run a business, as I didn’t complete any formal business education classes or programs. However, I was determine to make this venture a success, and applied myself to getting what it takes done to establish a successful business, including acquiring educational certificates in the area of business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Living Essentials is a handmade skin, hair and body care product business that started in October 2019. Our natural face and body soap bars were the first product launched, forming the foundation, and is still our most sought after product even up to today. As our soap bars began to gain popularity for its bountiful lathering, long lasting, moisturizing and nourishing effects, we then sort to offer additional natural skin care products in that of whipped body butters, and face mask mixes. As time went by, we kept on adding additional skin care and general body care product lines.
Eventually, as the request began to pour in for a shampoo bar, we then saw it fit to introduce our hair care product line to the fold.
Currently, we offer 20 different product lines with a wide range of varieties for each line. Example, our no 1 selling product is our natural soap bars, which offers 120 different combinations, leaving very little room for you to not find a soap of your preference.
All our products are handmade right here in Grenada, using the highest quality raw materials available. We use plant-based oils, essential oils and botanical extracts in our products. We never use dyes, parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic colorants, or harsh synthetic fragrances.
As we continued to grow, we seized the opportunity to further meet our customers’ needs with the launch of our sister brand Luxurious Scents. This brand offers an extensive range of scented candles that’s offered as a jar / container candle and our eye catching designed pillar candles. All our candles are made using Soy wax, as we endeavor to provide nothing short of the best to our customers.
Our success to date comes not just from our healthy product options but our consistently high customer service. We want you to be happy using natural products, and enjoy the experience of doing so, hence we work tirelessly to make sure our customers are satisfied.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A visit to the Worlds famous Grand Anse beach is a must, while there I’ll recommend to have a drink from Ether’s Bar located right on the beach. Other attractions to visit includes the beautiful town of St. George inclusive of the forts. The waterfalls and lakes provides great scenery on the way up to the North of the island where the historic Lepers Hill site is located. The homemade ice cream at the parlor there is to die for. To end the week, a visit to the Junction Bar and Grill located in Lance Aux Epines on a Friday night is highly recommended.

I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother Mrs. Maria Buxo. She’s been my biggest source of encouragement since day one. My assistant Lyndonna La Guerre, another person who’s been there from day one lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. To my wonderful customers, family members and friends, you guys are amazing. Without your support, especially the day one customers, none of this would exist. Lastly, to the almighty, for blessing me with my talents and skills.
