Meet Kris Nolan | Founder/CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris Nolan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I got tired of working for other people. My talent, education and time was going into something that I didn’t own. I wanted to be accountable for the time I spend each day and hopefully make a company that sets an example of how you need to treat customers and employees in the 21st century.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well the brand itself is about the anti-hero. Heroes try to save the world, villains try to save the people they love. I really love characters like Robin hood, William Wallace and other “villains” who defy the law to help or protect the ones they love. Most importantly they were never afraid of who they were. They embraced themselves and used that to accomplish great things.
My t-shirt art and branding is about that. The silent lions roar to the world that this is what I like. Controversial art on a great fitting t-shirt seemed like it could be a really cool sub culture in a world of niche modernism.
Any journey, professional or otherwise, is going to be difficult. I think if you truly believe in what you’re doing those challenges seem to just melt into the cost of doing business and brand building. You just assimilate those hiccups into yourself and keep moving forward.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think Id start off in Wynwood. I just love that area so much. It definitely reminds me of New York a little bit. The art, the food, the coffee, everything in that area seems to be coming alive and its great to see.
So coffee at Panther in Wynwood, Pizza at Joes pizza a few blocks away. Shopping in Brickell city center. Such a massive and beautiful place. You can really feel the growth of Miami in that place. You can feel its positive future. Then after the shopping its time to go to the beach. You can’t be in Miami and NOT go to the beach. Then after a dip and something to eat its time to check out some of the amazing restaurants like Papi’s Steak, Prime 112 and Carbone’s. Sexy Fish would also be on the “to-go” list. Then after a night out at Wet or Story maybe a visit to Dirty Rabbit as well, its breakfast at Bistro Cafe.
The list is endless. There are so many great spots in and around Miami. Perez museum, Erotica museum, the old Versace mansion that’s now a 5 star restaurant, Miami has it all.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt my Mom. Always been supportive of my endeavors no matter what they were. Believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Gave me the mental tools to keep going after what I want and to keep my faith close to me.
