Meet Kristin Brown | DJ, PR, Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I believe that a successful business starts with a meaningful and consistent brand. At a very young age, I founded my first business in 2014 that was very successful and is called ‘Blondes & Blowouts’. It grew to 2 retail locations and thousands of satisfied clients.

I found a niche in a market that had a high demand for a hair salon and stylists that specialize in blonde hair. It was also highly relatable with my clients as I myself struggled all of my life to find a stylist or salon that truly understood how to do blonde hair correctly and truly listened.

I have since then become a Realtor and joined Christie’s International which has an incredible reputation, team and mentorship.
This has had such an impact on my knowledge of the real estate market and the business property finance for upcoming projects and investments.

I have always been an artist so now I am back to my roots currently as a DJ and growing producer which I enjoy very much. I have also been throwing and managing events as well as starting a clothing brand. An Entrepreneur mind never stops.

I am now currently back to my roots as an artist as DJ and growing producer as well as an event coordinator.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Through many struggles, I am very proud of where I am at today. I’ve learned to embrace change and trust in what’s next.

After many years of creating and making various outlets and forms of music, I invested into DJ equipment and graduated DJ school. I have not looked back ever since and is the most fulfilling choice I feel I’ve made yet so far. I am able to mix my creative passion with business but most importantly move and inspire others positively through art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s hard to say what area a friend would be visiting because I love to travel with my friends. Some of my favorite places to travel are Amsterdam, Tulum and Ibiza.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whether it be business, real estate or music- most definitely my mentors.

What has been carried into any industry I have been is- Listening and learning is a skill of it’s own and embracing the knowledge those who are successful in your chosen venture are willing to share and teach you is so valuable.

Almost all mentors will have different view points or ways to explain things but being able to absorb it all and piece it together the way you resonate with, and to filter what’s best for you moving forward is key.
There’s a lesson in everything- never a loss.
