Meet Kristine Salazar

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristine Salazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristine, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The Idea for my business came from a simple love for baking and desire to reinvent a classic comfort food, Banana Bread. I’ve always loved the warmth and nostalgia that comes with a fresh loaf, but I noticed that most places only offer the traditional version. One day I started experimenting by adding different flavors together and that sparked a creative journey, that’s when I realized there was so many possibilities for unique and exciting Banana Bread flavors. So, I started testing flavors from Blueberries to Guava you name it, Thats when I knew i wanted to turn this passion into business. Now, I am proud to offer over 15 flavors, and each one is crafted to surprise and delight while staying true to that comforting banana bread base.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At breaded to perfection, we’re more than just a banana bread bakery- we are flavor creators, comfort food lovers, a family -run dream that came to life, what sets us apart is our dedication to reinventing banana bread in over 15 delicious and unique ways. From classic to bold flavor twists like Nutella, Guava and Cream Cheese or Blue berry we believe banana bread shouldn’t be boring, it should be an experience.
We’re incredibly proud of building something from scratch, quite literally – starting with one loaf and a whole lot of love. What began in our home kitchen had grown into a business that brings people joy, one slice at a time. We’re proud of staying true to our values; quality ingredients, small batch baking, and heart felt customer connections.
Our journey started with a family love for banana bread and a simple question: what if we took this comfort food and made it magical? with support from my children, late night baking sessions, and plenty of trial and error, the idea blossomed into a business. It wasn’t easy – we faced doubts, limited resources, and ups and downs of entrepreneurship -but we kept going!
There were moments when things felt overwhelming – juggling family life, sourcing ingredients, perfecting recipes, and learning how to run a business all at once. But we learned to be flexible, ask for help, and keep our passion front a center. Every challenge taught us something, patience, resilience, and the power of community support.
Breaded to perfection is built on the love for banana bread, for creativity, and for family. Each loaf is baked with care, inspired by joy and meant to make you feel at home. Whether it’s your first time trying us or your fiftieth, we want every bite to feel like comfort, celebration, and something truly special.
We’re just getting started – and we’re so excited for what’s next. Thank you for being a part of our story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A fun day in the city for me is all about exploring, eating and enjoying every little moment. We’d start in the morning with a good cup of coffee something strong and sweet from a local coffee shop maybe a caramel latte or a vanilla cold brew to get the day going.
Next: Brunch of course! I’m talking crispy waffles, eggs and maybe as slice of warm banana bread (you know I have to bring some from Breaded to perfection) After we’re full and happy, it’s time to walk it off through local shops, open- air markets, or even museum to soak up come inspiration and color.
Middays call for something refreshing – like a fruity iced tea, a smoothie, or maybe a boba drink. Then we’d visit a roof top spot or food hall grab a bite – street tacos, loaded fries or a fun new dish we’ve never tried before. The best part? Discovering new flavors and laughing along the way.
By the afternoon, we’d stop at a park or green space to relax, people -watch or take some fun photos, and of course we’d end the day with something sweet … maybe ice cream, a crazy dessert, or another slice of banana bread (you can never have too much).
The best city days are the ones where there is no real plan- just good food, great company, and a little bit of adventure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A special shout out to my amazing children- my biggest supporters and the official banana bread taste- testers! Their love for banana bread and encouragement gave me the push to turn a family favorite into a full- blown business. From helping me in the kitchen to cheering me on every step of the way, this journey wouldn’t be the same without them. Breaded to Perfection is baked with love and a lot of help from my little crew.
