We had the good fortune of connecting with Kym Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kym, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind myself is simply being true to me. Really truly honestly being myself. Understanding that no one else is like me and that’s why I’m needed. No one is going to do it like me that why they’ll choose me. Being me helps people see the joy in everyday life lows.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Multi-Hyphenated Creative Entrepreneur that works in the entertainment industry. Specializing in Experience and Design many clients hire me for strategy, execution, and design that promotes concept and results. I’m most proud of my ability to be well versed in many skills. I got to where I am today by having tunnel vision and staffing my weakness. Lessons I’ve learned along the way is to know the end goal and stay confident that you’ll get there even if things don’t go my way. Knowing that everything has to work for me for the betterment of my life keeps me going and striving towards better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Because of our love for seafood we would do a seafood tour at all the local restaurants. We would self care at a spa with massages, facials, and oriental health practices.

We would enjoy indoor amusement like go cart riding, shopping, painting with a twist, brunches and more.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This one is for my black creative sisters that work hard, show up for others and themselves. The ones making a living by following God and their passions. The ones that are multi-hyphenated and breaking barriers on what “they” think we should do and be. To my Creative Sistahs Iva, Ashley D. Shay, Ta’lor’ & Alexis!
