We had the good fortune of connecting with Langlichmie Normile and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Langlichmie, how do you think about risk?
In my opinion, risk is an opportunity to grow because at the end we always learn something from it. Furthermore, risk is the courage that helps us overcome fear and doubt, challenge ourselves and other odds, build faith and character, it is also a chance to prove a point or build something. Big dreams mean taking a lot of risk.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a multi-talented woman because I am an author, a model, an actress, a director, a co-host, a producer an entrepreneur and a mambo. I think what set me apart from others is the fact that I am a spiritual person and I have the ability to come up with very innovative ideas. I have always been a very creative person; throughout my childhood I always have an original thinking. I am proud of the accomplishment of my book Signing & Gede Event at the Caribbean Marketplace in Little Haiti. During this journey of November 19th, 2023, I self-publish my book “Spiritual Fasting” in English and “Jeune Mystique ou Jeune Vodouisant” in French with the performance of Kanis, Dj Gardy Girault, Dj SpackSound, NSL dance with Nancy Saint Leger, and a fashion show by the designer Madeleine Sanon. which was a huge success. To be where I am today, I know that I am not alone, then, I don’t take no for an answer. First, I believe each vision; second, I educate myself; last but not least, I work hard and smart to bring each vision through life with their unconditional support. Was it easy? No, it wasn’t easy at all because I cried multiple times, and I had self-doubt with all of the rejections, or even want to give up, and as a young beautiful woman some people tried to take advantage of me. To overcome the challenges, I pray a lot, I surround myself with my family and friends that believe and understand my vision, I also built some network to help me navigate through each process. Furthermore, I follow the mantra of “one step a time” and “never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.” I learned that no one could do or accomplish anything by themselves it requires teamwork and even for each dream, vision or project you name it, I was responsible for 80% of the success. Because some people will join you as long as you can take the risk. One of my brands which is my story and my first name Langlichmie aim to clarify and dispel misconceptions about the Haitian spirituality Vodou because I want the world to know and see it differently and normal as other spiritualities. Also, maintaining a balance spiritual life is important as any daily hygiene.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an artist, on the first day I will make them visit the Perez Art Museum so they can appreciate and see other creative work. The second day, I will visit the Miami Design district for with them to shop, take pictures, taste different cuisine like Italian, Mexican foods, etc. On the third day, I will make them discover the beauty of the Wynwood walls. On the fourth day, I will take them to the SuperBlue Miami so they can hear their own heartbeat and fascinated by themselves on the mirrors. For the fifth day, if it is only girlfriends, I will definitely go to the Moon with them for brunch, then go to Aventura mall for more options like movies, shopping, eating etc. On the sixth day, we will go to Soho Beach house for a sunny day at the beach or at the pool while enjoying other services. Last but not least, the seven day it’s a night of fun, for this reason we will hang out at Coyo Taco Wynwood, Red Rooster or at the Dirty Rabbit.
In my view, the Paradox Museum in Wynwood is definitely interesting to check out. Furthermore, Park Treetop Trekking is a must place to check out as it helps to reconnect with nature while having a fun adventure. It has zipline, suspended bridges, swinging logs, cable traverses and more.
