We had the good fortune of connecting with Larisa Mathur and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Larisa, what’s your definition for success?
At its core my definition of success is building strong, intentional relationships, both professionally and personally. Sounds simple, but sustaining genuine openness, flexibility and creating space for others is one of the most difficult things to achieve.

I’m deliberate about where I invest my time and energy, because many of life’s biggest problems can be avoided simply by not attaching yourself to the wrong people. When I find someone has qualities I respect and this person becomes meaningful, I commit fully—with heart, mind, and presence. I make a conscious effort to check my ego at the door and meet people where they’re at. This requires patience, restraint and accepting uncertainty. There are times you knowingly let them choose a different path, partner, or solution. It can be hard, especially after you’ve given your best. Sometimes, all you can do is quietly leave the door open, and hope for their reconsideration without pressure or resentment.

In those rare moments when someone I value chooses to walk through the door that’s where the magic happens. It’s where success is not just understood —it’s deeply felt. When you’re ultimately chosen for the right reasons, the sense of fulfillment is profound because it was earned through exposing values, rather than short term transactional gain. These moments turn into partnerships, friendships or relationships that last a lifetime, and substantially enrich your life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Propertunity ‘s mission is to simplify and accelerate the way real estate investors fund, build, and sell their projects. We are a full-service capital and execution partner, designed to support investors at every critical stage of the deal lifecycle—from acquisition to exit.

Our approach starts with fast, flexible funding. We work to secure capital quickly and efficiently, minimizing documentation and removing the friction that often slows projects down. But our involvement doesn’t stop at closing. As projects move into development, we continue to support our investors with incremental funding aligned to progress, ensuring momentum is never lost.

Beyond capital, Propertunity brings projects to market through its strategic partnerships with brokers. We help position, market, and sell properties strategically, focusing on speed, visibility, and value optimization. Our goal is not just to fund deals, but to help investors complete them successfully and profitably.

By combining financing, ongoing support, and market execution under one roof, Propertunity is more than a lender—we become a trusted partner. Investors work with us because we understand the realities of building real estate, respect their time, and are committed to helping them move confidently from vision to outcome.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m the breakfast and dessert all day type, so my recommendations are all about carbs. Best empanadas can be found in Nahuen, an Argentinian bakery. Their chicken and wallnuts empanada usually gets people talking, it’s beyond deliscious, but you can’t go wrong with any of them, or if you prefer a lighter sandwich, Nahuen has the best migas with roasted peppers.

For dessert and afternoon coffee Le Parc in Coral Gables is a good place to visit. It’s a historic building so visitors can learn about Miami, although I go there for the opera cake. I’m sure there’s a lunch menu as well, but as a matter of priorities, I never got that far.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to recognize my Serbian community here, give a warm shoutout to the St. Simeon orthodox church. In the midst of the stresses of life, it’s Father Milan Krstic that brings us peace each week, and reminds me to put my little problems in perspective, remember we are all here by grace and in service of God.
