Meet Laura Ashley Todd | Gourmet Caterer with a Modern Twist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Ashley Todd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working for several years in the luxury hotel industry, I was unfulfilled and underpaid. Plus, the fact that the culinary industry is male dominated added another challenging aspect to the job. My mentor, at the time, suggested that I start my own catering business which planted the idea in my head. I wanted to start a full service catering company that would deliver classic elegance with a modern twist.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Laura Ashley Catering is a fully licensed and insured gourmet catering and event planning company also offering party and bar rentals as well as highly-trained staff.

This female-owned and operated company was started in 2015 with the goal of offering high-end services and delicious food for all types of occasions including, but not limited to, weddings, corporate events, cocktail parties, and fundraisers.

With over 10 years of experience, Chef Laura has cultivated strong relationships with industry vendors to offer clients the most reasonable prices without sacrificing quality. In addition, Chef Laura has the expertise necessary to plan and execute a smashingly successful event which your guests will rave about long after the thank you’s are sent.

Prior to establishing her own company, Chef Laura worked for several prestigious clubs and properties throughout the United States, as well as established chefs and catering companies in Palm Beach, Florida.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I would take them to Grato for Neapolitan pizza in El Cid of West Palm Beach which is close to the PBI airport and my kitchen. Afterwards, I would take them to the Ben for rooftop cocktails downtown.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to all my industry friends who have shown support and shared encouraging words through this past year. We are truly stronger together and I enjoy having the opportunity to help budding entrepreneurs that come after me.
