Meet Laura Krueger | CEO and Founder, LM Media Worldwide

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Krueger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am very entrepreneurial at heart, having run a successful restaurant, catering business and multi-unit health food stores in the past, so I was always looking for another opportunity while working for someone else. I was working for a hotel company and what I noticed was no one was helping brides and grooms mitigate their wedding blocks, so I had the idea to become a third party meeting planner for brides and grooms for their room blocks, as no one was doing this in the hospitality industry. I met up with Michelle , who comes from a family of entrepreneurs, while working at Wyndham Hotel Group and told her about the idea and she loved it and our company, LM Media Worldwide, was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business, LM Media Worldwide, is a niche business in the hospitality industry. Michelle and I and our team specialize in hotel room blocks for weddings. We help couples find the best hotel rates and deals near their wedding venue and we do it for free, as we get paid from the hotel. What sets us apart is that we are the only service dedicated to wedding hotel blocks. Other companies do wedding blocks, but no one but us specializes in them exclusively. We are also a fully owned and operated women owned business enterprise. Our business journey is completely grass roots style, we received zero monies from angel investors or any investors. We started from the ground up, just the two of us, Michelle and I. slowly we built our team to where it is today by knocking on doors and meeting the right people and being in the right place at the right time. Hard work and always putting ourselves out there to meet and greet anyone is what got us to where we are now. It was not easy, it was hard work, but it was fun and exciting and there was always a new challenge ahead of us to conquer and we love working together as a team. We also have wonderful employees and associates, who are dedicated to our business and with whom we could not have the successes we have today without.
The main lesson is take risks, be afraid, but do it anyway, don’t give up, ever… Always persevere, nothing is as bad as it looks and things always work out like they are supposed to as long as you do your best every day.
We want the world to know that if you have a great idea and it does not go away, if it stays with you, there is a reason why, so act upon it so you don’t regret not doing it, its where your destiny lies. We are so happy that our destinies collided and LM Media Worldwide was born and is now growing and flourishing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
my shoutout is to Michelle Donson, my incredible business partner and dear friend, with whom I share a birthday with, October 19th, and who is like me in all of the best ways. We are always on the same page, we walk each other off of our our respective ledges every day and have complete trust in each other. Michelle is an amazing woman, mother of two incredible daughters, and the best business partner anyone could hope for. I would and could never run our business without her, she is my inspiration every day. Also my mother, Amelia, who showed me by example what toughness and resilience truly are, its not the successes that matter, its persevering through adversity and never giving up.
