We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Klein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our business, Flourish Law Group, is helping our community by educating families, business owners and others about the benefits and main considerations when it comes to estate planning and how this planning is not only important for the wealthy or elderly, but for everyone. Estate planning, which is truly just an extension of financial planning, can seem a little daunting or scary, but it can also be an opening to powerful conversations about your values, protecting your legacy and exploring the impact you’d like to leave on the world around you. In our experience working exclusively with high net worth individuals for many years, we realized that the rest of us did not necessarily have access to easily digestible, high quality and approachable estate planning. Flourish Law Group was born out of our goal to truly change our community’s access and understanding of estate planning, especially with the Great Transfer of Wealth around the corner. It is estimated that approximately $84 trillion in assets is set to change hands over the next 20 years. The recipients of this wealth, primarily members of Generation X , millennials and Gen Z , are expected to inherit $72 trillion of that amount, mainly from baby boomers, with the rest going to charity. Much of this will be lost or unprotected due to no or inadequate estate planning. We aim to change this through our firm’s offerings.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I would say what sets apart Flourish Law Group from other law firms focusing on estate planning is that we have taken our experiences working in this industry collectively for 20+ years and working with some of the wealthiest families in the world, and we have now brought that knowledge and experience to the rest of our community. We have reflected on what we have seen done well in the world of estate planning and improved up that, and we have reflected on where we see major gaps in the market and we have implemented a client experience and process to fill those gaps. We just celebrated the one year anniversary of our firm, and while there have been certain challenges, I am happy to have my law partner, Kristen Landon, and her expertise, tenacity and humor to make it through those challenging times. I want the world to know that we are in the process of building our own legacy and taking care of our own families, so we understand your pain points and encourage you to keep following your own dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I am staying in the Broward area, then I would take them either to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and grab some oysters at Even Keel or a drink at Arubas, or to Las Olas and stop for a margarita and guacamole at Rocco’s Tacos or a coffee at Ann’s Florist. If we are in Miami, then I would take them to South Beach for a beach day or to Brickell City Centre.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We have had many cheerleaders, mentors, and support since starting Flourish Law Group, from family, friends and colleagues, but I definitely need to give a huge shoutout to Nicole Mastrangelo and Romi Wallach, of The Daily Drip, for supporting us and connecting us with so many powerful individuals and businesses that are aligned with our mission.
