Hi LaVonna Shannon, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our business is that we are a direct representation of our brand. This has allowed our customers to trust that we will provide them with the proper education and quality products to start a healthier lifestyle. Before starting our business, we managed to capture a specific audience by showing what we cooked, how we ate, and the products that we used on a regular basis. We were able to convert those followers into our customers, which was the starting point of the success of our business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
New Legacy Vegans was founded in 2018 by myself and my mother. We promote a lifestyle approach to creating the healthiest version of yourself. Whether you are transitioning or already committed within your journey, you will find that our products will make it easier for you to maintain.
Our passion for health and wellness is what helps to set us apart from others. We do not compromise on the quality of our products or the education that we give. We are dedicated to helping our customers maintain a healthier lifestyle. We are most proud of our ability to work together as a mother-daughter team. We have a great work relationship and we respect the roles that we have set within our business. Everyday we grow more excited for what the future holds.
With a clear vision, consistency, and dedication we were able to get to where we are today. This has not been easy, but it has been worth it all. There were times where we have worked 15 hours a day, 7 days a week, with booked events every weekend for months at a time.
To help us overcome those challenges we learned to be more strategic within our planning and making sure that we are using our time wisely. We focused more on the foundation/structure of our business and our overall brand appearance instead of making sales. This allowed us to not have to work so hard on going after the customers, but building a brand that attracts customers organically.
Some of the lessons that we have learned along the way are that you should never compromise who you are, make sure your products represent your brand, everyone can’t be your target audience, stay consistent at all times. and always carry your passion before the profit.
Our story begins with me assisting my mom with starting her vegan journey. She was in a place mentally where she was tired of living an unhealthy life. Her old habits brought on obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes, and arthritis. After 4 months of transitioning through fasting and healthier lifestyle choices, my mother was able to reverse all of her ailments, along with losing over 50 pounds.
After sharing the success of her journey, we received so many messages about her being a motivation to others. We decided to start sharing more information, recipes, and products. Soon after, we formed New Legacy Vegans to help others transition and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Typically, when you start a business you are told not to depend on or look for the support of your family. Although this is true, we have been blessed to obtain loyal support from our family from the start of our business. They have purchased products, attended events, promoted our business, helped with deliveries, packaged products, and have even contributed financially. Some have even gone as far to offer storage space within their homes. We are so grateful to have a strong support system that continues to encourage us and pushes us to be greater. Thank you!
