Meet Lazaro Marcia | Tattooist and Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lazaro Marcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lazaro, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Art has always been more than just a passion for me — it’s been a lifeline and a form of expression that helped me push through some of my greatest challenges. After a motorcycle accident left me with the use of only one arm, many would have seen that as a reason to give up, but for me, it became the reason to push harder. I chose a creative path because it allowed me to transform adversity into purpose. Tattooing, especially, became my way of connecting with people on a deep level — creating permanent, meaningful art that tells their stories while continuing to write my own. Every line I draw is proof that limitations can be redefined, and every tattoo is a reminder of resilience, both theirs and mine. This career isn’t just about ink; it’s about the indomitable human spirit — something I live and breathe every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is rooted in purpose, resilience, and connection. What sets me apart isn’t just the technical skill or the ink I lay into the skin — it’s the story behind each piece, the emotion I pour into every line, and the journey that led me here. I tattoo with one arm ,not by choice, but by fate — and that alone shapes the way I approach my craft. Every tattoo is proof that limitations can be transformed into power when you’re driven by passion and faith.
Professionally, my path wasn’t easy. After a motorcycle accident left me with only one functioning arm, I had every reason to walk away from my artistic dreams. But I refused. I started from the ground up, apprenticed under skilled mentors, and dedicated myself to mastering my craft with the tools and ability I had. It meant pushing past doubt — both from others and myself — and constantly proving that I belonged in this industry. Since becoming licensed in early 2018, I’ve never stopped learning or evolving.
I’m proud not only of the tattoos I create but of the trust my clients place in me. Many come to me for deeply personal, meaningful work — and I don’t take that lightly. That connection, that shared energy, is something I cherish. I’ve built a brand that’s authentic, compassionate, and rooted in perseverance.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that your circumstances don’t define you, your mindset does. Talent matters, but heart and discipline will always take you further. I want the world to know that I didn’t take a single shortcut to get here. My story is one of faith, family, grit, and an unshakable love for the art form. I’m not just tattooing skin — I’m telling stories, including my own.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them the creative soul and cultural richness that makes South Florida so unique. We’d start in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, surrounded by bold murals, galleries, and a thriving street art scene. From there, we’d explore the Miami Design District, full of high-end art, fashion, and architecture, then soak in the energy of Little Havana, with its deep cultural roots, music, and authentic Cuban food.
To unwind, we’d take a road trip down to the Florida Keys — enjoying the laid-back island vibes, fresh seafood, and stunning ocean views. Between the art, culture, food, and natural beauty, it’s the perfect balance of inspiration, relaxation, and connection — a true reflection of what this area has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to give all the glory to God — without His guidance, grace, and strength, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My journey has been filled with challenges, but my faith has been my foundation and my driving force. I also want to dedicate this shoutout to my incredible family — my wife, who has stood by me through every high and low no matter what, and my kids, who inspire me every day to keep pushing forward and creating. Their love and belief in me have been everything.
I also want to deeply thank every single client who has sat in my chair and trusted me with their skin and their stories. Whether it was their first tattoo or their tenth, every person who supported my work helped build the artist and the brand I’ve become. Lastly, to my mentors and the fellow artists who shared their knowledge and space with me — your guidance shaped my growth in ways I’ll never forget. This journey has never been a solo one, and I’m beyond grateful for every soul who’s been part of it.
