We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lee, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Balance is a very difficult quality to obtain. To even reach the point where awareness of balance is reached took an eternity for me. Now that I’m conscious of how important balance is in every aspect of my life, I work very diligently to adhere to this state of being. I’ve come to several realizations over time. One is that is you balance your life correctly and you are in tune with this concept, there is time for everything. How easily we just throw time away as the hours of our lives tick by while we complain about never achieving, never seeing, never doing the things we feel will enrich and fulfill our lives. Pure garbage. When you live with balance abundance and peace inevitably become your way of life. What I’ve also come to realize as a firm disciple of balance is how little we truly need. Nature is balance, and event though as a human race we kick and scram at the thought, we are simply nature, and nature requires little for fulfillment.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music is my life. My medium is guitar and my voice. Guitar is an obsession. It is my palette and canvass and the window to my expression. I don’t have any other way to share my vibration with the universe. Guitar is my vessel. Nothing had been particularly easy or hard. It’s just been until it will be no more. The one overwhelming reality is that I’ve never given up. Many times it’s been easier to just let it all go and continue life without creating ,but for whatever reason I just can’t stop. If there’s one thing to be taken from my art is that it is absolutely real. There is deception to my work. In an ever more fraudulent world I remain dedicated to sharing my reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What a city we have!! And for us who were raised here, we know the real Miami spots away from the tourist traps.

I would start off by calling my main girl Sophie at Sapore di Mare in the Grove for an amazing Italian Seafood dinner. This ranks as one of my very favorite restaurants anywhere in the world!

The it’s time to take on the nightlife. I still love South Beach. I know it’s an unpopular opinion amongst locals but this area of the Beach still holds so much joy for me. We would start off at Mac’s Club Deuce followed by Lost Weekend and Kill Your Idol. I’m a rocker so you know I love my gritty dive bars!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out dedication goes out to AC/DC. No one person, community, religion or group had been more instrumental in forming who I am today more than this ancient rock band from down under. Qualifies such as determination, grit, steadfastness, and dedication to true self over fads, fashion and forgery have shown me time and time again there is a place in the work for all who are genuine.
