We had the good fortune of connecting with Legal Burning and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Legal, how do you think about risk?
I believe taking risks comes hand in hand with putting your artwork out to the masses. Every post, sale, and conversation with clients is a risk that will or will not work out in your favor at that specific time. I believe creative strategy is key, and there is always a risk when you take a concept and project it out into the physical world.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I use pyrography tools (heated tips) to create very intricate work on paper and wood. I use a ton of linework and contrast to make the image become 3 dimensional. Each line I put down is strategic as there is no room for error, especially on collectible comic books.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definately hit up Intracoastal brewery for local food and craft beers. Then spend some time at Melbourne beach playing volleyball and chilling on the sand. I’d say wind down the night at Captain Hirams in Sebastian having some fresh seafood, cold mixed drinks and listening to local bands play live.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out to my wife Melissa for always backing my work and loving me through the hustle. I also want to shout out to Jason and Paula at Kingdom of Comics for stirring me on to Burning comic covers.
