Hi Lekeshia, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“The meaning of life is to give life meaning.” This quote is a driving force behind me reaching for success in every area of my life and sharing all I know with my children , family, and those I mentor. I love how this quote challenges the status quo and affirms that what we do while here on this earth has purpose. Starting our clothing brand to share how humility could be a pathway to success has further fueled the idea about giving life a meaning.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a pharmacist by trade but I’ve always been a creative. I’m most proud that my ability to reach people through skills in counseling have allowed me to build some great relationships. The journey to become a Pharmacist was challenging. Learning how to balance academics, work, and college was a learning curve. Today, I am a manager of a Specialty Pharmacy. Being disciplined and creative have been crucial to the achievements I’ve obtained. My immediate family supports me without restrictions and for us it’s truly Family Over Everything!! I want to shout out and Thank, Levorn,Semira and Quentin for being the inspiration behind our lifestyle brand, Pretty Humble Beast! Compliments have always been given by anyone interacting with my children with a similar comment like, “They are so humble and kind.” We’ve always been able to tap in to our faith and we’re reminded by James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of Lord and He will lift you up.” This became our foundation. As we make new items we sometimes add this verse. What sets us apart is that humility requires action and sometimes inaction. The intent is the same to amplify others in the process of living. It takes nothing away from you to elevate others. Our brand will always seek to represent strength in humility while being fashionable!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is interesting because it will definitely depend on the reason for the trip. However, the week would include everything from beach to brunch. Some of the activities we might try are The Improv, the Design District, the Hardwork/Guitar hotel, or a yacht day. Restaurants would include anything from Lil’ Geenhouse Grill, Arline’s, The Morgans, Nikki Beach, Red Rooster, etc. There are so many hidden gems that I’ve been here for 24 years and still have haven’t scratched the surface of everything available.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Having a rough start and then receiving loving support from various people in the nick of time is where my gratitude begins for my family, especially my grandfather, James F. Idlett, teachers, husband, and children. Because of them, I could dream without limits. I’m eternally grateful that God chose me to be the recipient of the life I live and the love from all of the wonderful human beings I’ve encountered in my life.
