We had the good fortune of connecting with Leo Nourachi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leo, how do you think about risk?
I have always taken a calculated risk in my life and in starting my business. I believe in life you have always a choice / risk that you have to take whenever you get to the end of the road which has a fork! .
I know whatever I choose, I will find something that I will learn as I enjoy my travels.
The philosophy of my travel is the journey and not the end result.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business as an architectural illustrator  when I was  working for an architectural firm TVS in Atlanta Ga. I worked there for 5 years  and during that time I decided that i am going to start my own business in offering architects  to do their presentation and illustration for their design  projects.

I  Just decided  one day to leave to travel to Europe and come back so that I can start my own business . I had the faith that it would be ok and  I just took  the risk of starting my own business . I had some money that I saved over the years to give me head start   to set upfor travel and new the business.

you have to have the faith and strength that it all will work out .  This is the same as when I traveled on my own  ,on a backpack from train to train and had to make decisions where I am going to sleep  tonight in this new city I just arrived in . I always loved traveling alone as this helped me to make decisions on the fly and solve issues as they come . I can not blame anyone else but myself .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
well if i was still in Genova  I will say  our itinerary  will be to take a walk on the hilly steps around the city . There are 1000s of stair steps to walk from one spot to the  other . It is a journey  and exercise you see every old and young does every day . Then I will have a stop at a small  cafe near  a water fountain that  is busy w. birds and people just talking and having their coffee and espresso . Just sitting there you will be dreaming  of ideas and inspiration to whatever you are  thinking of that day .

Next evening will go to the international Bar where you will find every foreigner from all over the world come to this bar. You will see everyone is very interested  in talking  to each other.

You can end the evening by strolling  on the side walk from that bar to have a Gelato  and piece of pizza .  It is really  a small travel journey in your small city .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to say that my travels were my best mentorship . Not only did travel help shape me and my business but also help me to find my soul mate / wife in that process.

Travel to Europe, the Middle east and N. Africa during my Graduate studies was in the Rivera costal of Italy on the hills of old City of Genova. Our base was in Villa Piaggio, Graduate Research center in Architectural urban studies .We were 12 graduate students, and 3 professors from Clemson university that we each had to research our individual thesis.
