Meet Leo Samples | Writer and Film Director/Video Production

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leo Samples and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Leo Free aka “Spike Leo” is a writer and independent film director who is making a name for himself in the video production industry. As the founder and CEO of Linc Productions, Leo oversees a talented team of photographers and videographers who specialize in creating dynamic visuals for a range of clients. Over the years, Leo has faced a number of challenges as a filmmaker and entrepreneur, including navigating the competitive nature of the industry and overcoming financial obstacles. Despite these hurdles, he has remained dedicated to his craft and is now working on his most ambitious project to date – a TV series currently casting for that he plans to film this summer 2023 and pitch to major networks and streaming platforms. In addition, Leo is set to open his first creative studio in Atlanta, Georgia, which he hopes will serve as a hub for up-and-coming artists and creatives. Through his work with Linc Productions and beyond, Leo is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of film and video production.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First we would have to spend some time visiting South Beach and enjoy a day relaxing day soaking up the sun and swimming in the ocean. Grab lunch at Joe’s Stone Crab, a Miami institution known for its fresh seafood. In the evening time heading into the night wed have to go to LIV nightclub, one of Miami’s most popular spots for dancing and celebrity sightings. I love Cuban food so we would definitely have to visit Little Havana and experience traditional Cuban culture at Versailles before visiting a few Museums. After soaking up some culture and history head to Komodo for an upscale Asian restaurant with all the vibes. Me being a creative I would have to visit Wynwood Walls to walk around and check out all the amazing Art District before hitting a few clubs. To top off the Miami experience I would rent a boat and have a day out on the ocean with friends experience the amazing views and weather Miami has to offer. If time permits and we aren’t already spent, maybe an evening at Elleven to check out some music and great vibes. This is a great way to have an amazing time in Miami.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
They say if you want to go fast then go by yourself, but if you want to go far than go with other people. It has and continues to be a journey for me in accomplishing the things that I want in this life and Ive decided to go far with the people closest to me. Id like to recognize my family and friends that have supported me either directly or indirectly over the years of me pursuing my dreams and goals.

First would be my sister and best friend Nika. Her continued belief and support for me over the years has be invaluable, She’s held me down and supported me through tough times and best times. Trusting me, pushing me and never letting me quit. I cant thank her enough. My Mother Bernadette has literally never wavered one time in her position of biggest fan, cheerleader, and supporter that I have. She’s been my rock through uncertainty and challenging times and remains one of the biggest reasons I strive for greatness. I want to shout out my dad Lenny for challenging me to become the man I am today and always being a backbone and reference point for what being a man is about and taking care of business. Theres been so many people that have been on journey with me thus far but I would like to highlight some key people. Jasmine thank you for believing in me when no one else has and always being there. Doug, one of my best friends, someone that I rely on more than you know for words of wisdom, guidance and brotherhood. Terek, thanks for all the hours of hardwork and dedication we’ve shared over the years working tirelessly on our passions. Mark, somebody I can always go to for clarity and to voice my ideas. One of the most loyal people I know. Makeda, Fleshia, Tony, Darrell, Diana, Cinnamon, Kenyah. Thank you for always being in my corner and giving genuine love, support, loyalty, and generosity. Nothing ever goes unnoticed or unrecognized. Just to list a few but anyone else that has supported anything Ive ever done Id like to thank sincerely.
